“Good hotel for the price”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

Great location. Rooms are clean, but bathrooms are a little small. Stayed here twice, once the room was quite spacious and the next relatively small. My one annoyance is the wifi. It is free only in the lobby and is quite slow. The paid for service, was abysmally slow for the price! was trying to download a 30Mb file and gave up and went to sleep after an hour or so!
Would stay there again, if I cannot find something as good for a lower price.

This hotel is very well located; this is its best asset. Staff was not very helpful and at times indifferent to clients' needs. No luggage racks in rooms. Suitcases have to be left on the floor or on top of furniture if you don't want to bend all the time to get staff out of them. Some members of staff are quite abrupt/rude. They act like they are doing you a favour by staying there as if you were stayong for free. Quite overpriced for the service. Breakfast is poor quality; only 2 different fruit juices and very watery. Disappointing!!!

Had a great tome here, got an upgraded room to a heritage and it was well with it. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the staff were very helpful, the location is so close to everything in a very lovely part of London, bar was average and we didn't eat at the restaurant but the rest of the Orel was fabulous.

The manager was outside when I arrived and helped me with my luggage. Jorge at reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size (515) and having a fridge is always a bonus. However, free wifi would be great.

Contacted the hotel in April for our Silver Wedding Anniversary celebrations. On arrival at 11am we were check-in promptly and handed our keys to the Deluxe Heritage Room (upgraded with the hotels compliments due to our special occasion). The room was bright airy and spacious and everything was clean and pleasant.

Booked dinner for two in the restaurant at 19.30 and we were the only people in there until 20.30 when a family of 8 arrived. The food was good but the service was a little slow and we were walking out as our desserts arrived 50 minutes after ordering. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and a very good selection.

We booked Champagne afternoon tea for six on Sunday, again the hotel gave us a good discount and that went without a hitch. We were not rushed out of the door and left to our own devices with regular top ups made as required.

Overall the hotel was good with easy access to shopping in Hig St Kensignton/Oxford and Regent Streets. Would definitely book again.

Room Tip: Book early and ask if there are any discounts available.

We arrived late in the evening (just after 11pm) on a Saturday to be told that the hotel had run out of key cards so we couldn't have a key to our room. Instead, they said we would have to ask someone on reception to accompany us to the room when we wanted to get in. Incredible.

Not a big problem that evening but when we came down for breakfast the next morning it was clearly going to be an issue with several people queuing to check out. I can just imagine the reaction if I had insisted on someone leaving reception to open our door and I certainly was not going to wait in a queue for that. However, the manager was supervising breakfast and stepped in to provide a key. They must have had some cards returned by then.

Aside from this, the hotel was fine with a very pleasant bar in which to have a final drink before retiring. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice and the food was good. The rooms were fine for a short stay with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was small but adequate - the only problem was the the shower drained too slowly and we got pretty close to the tray overflowing after two people had had a shower.

For London, Park International Hotel is an OK hotel for the price. The trouble though is that nothing really stood out to differentiate it from every other hotel in this price bracket. Rooms were functional, the bathroom whilst clean is small. For anyone taller that 6'2 and needing to use the toilet in the room, don't choose room 418. The loo is very close to the wall and feels very claustrophobic.

In the room...the shower works great, the bed though, actually the mattress, feels a little thin...not supportive or sumptuous in any way. I slept OK but it could have been better. And if you hit London during the time of any heat, the aircon in 418 worked really very well.

At breakfast you'll find the usual varied selection which is mostly self-service apart from tea and coffee. The buffet centre has a wide variety including, and from memory, Japanese rice. I didn't try any, it looked porridge-like only with rice. Of note, if you like scrambled eggs you'll certainly not be wanting in terms of quantity but the pastie anemic look might put you off.

Anyway, at well over £125 per night I object to having to pay an additional £9 per day for wi-fi when in my room and yet free if I wandered in to the lobby. I don't understand the logic and feels greedy since I'm spending money on the room, evening meals and drinks in the bar. For residence, wi-fi imho should be free.

Overall, the hotel is OK or what it is.
