“Exactly what you'd expect for the price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

Stayed here on our first trip to London - 5 nights. Overall, it was a fine experience. We booked through Expedia & with the flight, the price was exactly what we were looking for.

Positives - very clean & everything you need is provided (blow dryer!, coffee/tea pot, free wifi). Responsive staff. Excellent location - close to 2 different tube stops & an easy walk to Kensington Gardens.

Negatives - If you are an American & used to being able to do more than turn around in your room, these rooms will disappoint you. They are the definition of tiny. The bathroom is even smaller (if that's possible) & with 2 people in the room (we had a queen room) one of us literally had to leave so the other can dress in the morning. However, all of this we just chucked up to good location in London/affordable. It is INCREDIBLY noisy. We were on the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans) & with windows open, our room was smoke filled (from smokers downstairs) & we could hear every word of every conversation. If you're a light sleeper - good luck. However, the worst thing about the room was the heater - it wouldn't turn off. Shockingly we had a few REALLY warm days (80 degrees) & the room was unbearably hot. The windows do not open more than a small crack. We complained & asked for a different room - they could not provide us with one (none available). To their credit, the staff did try to help - they provided a fan & in the end, unlocked the windows so they could open more. With the windows actually opened, it was fine (since the night tends to be cool).

Good hotel at an affordable price. Hoping that soon enough the $ vs pound situation will get a little better & we can afford a nicer hotel, but for people trying to save money (but stay in a clean, safe hotel), would absolutely recommend this place.

My mother and I stayed here for two weeks in April and really enjoyed it. The room was very small and the bathroom was a little tight for my mom's (American) standards, but it suited our needs. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. It is also very conveniently located near a convenience store and just a few blocks from the tube station.

There is no fridge which made grocery shopping a bit challenging, but it wasn't so bad.

Location is perfect for anyone working at the Olympia, for the price the place is clean and staff are pleasant and helpful. Rooms are Compact but sufficient for the price. If you are expecting savoy style and service this isn't for you but we were Very satisfied and will book for next year.

Thank you for your kind praises.

Our dedicated reception and housekeeping work together to provide our guests with an exceptional service.

We are fortunate to have a great location.

For those that are visiting or exhibiting at the Olympia Exhibition Centre we are walking distance.

For the tourist traveler we are situated on one of London’s most used line. The District Line has most of London’s most famous museums and attractions. The science museum, V&A museum, National History museum, Buckingham Palace, St James Park, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedreal and Tower of London are all situated on the district Lone.

We are very pleased to hear that you would like to stay with us again and would love to welcome you again in the near future.

Warm Regards from the Kensington West team

Ordered a family room - and it was very small, barely no room for us all to stand at the same time. The bathroom was tiny and the sink was like it was made for young person. States everywhere that its a bed and breakfast - yet they dont supply food. Good if your only using the place to crash for one night.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay with us.

We believe in giving our guests a choice of where to eat their hearty breakfast. We are fortunate to have a number of breakfast cafes and restaurants walking distance from us. Café Continente, a favourite amount our guests is a mere 3 minutes walk from us.

All our rooms are of a standard size for London and our location and price reflects this.

We do hope we have the opportunity to accommodate you in the near future and sincerely apologise for not meeting your expectations on this occasion.

Stayed here last weekend. Great value for money and although quite small rooms was clean and tidy! Staff at reception were helpful and even held our bags for the day while we went around London before returning to collect bags later that evening and head to airport. Will definitely be staying here next time i go to London

I stayed here last weekend for 2 nights as I was doing the London marathon. As soon as we got there they said 1 room of our 2 was ready and the other would be later which was fine and said the cot for our 2 year old son would be in the other room. When that room was ready I was surprised to see that there was no cot in there. I went to reception who was at this time now someone different to who I saw earlier about the room and they had no idea what I was talking about with the cot and didn't know where one was and they were the only person working. 2 hours later they managed to find it in a cupboard and brought it to the room. I then had to put it up and we were in room 38 I think which was small as it was but with putting the cot up we actually couldn't open the door properly! On Sunday my fiancé wanted to have a bath and the bathroom was to a good standard but only to find out that the water trickled out and meaning no chance of running a bath and it was the same with the shower. Told someone at reception about it and they said they would sort it. I get back to the hotel after he marathon in need of a bath at 6pm to find that nothing had been done and no one has even bothered to tell us or let us no why it was completely forgotten about. Luckily there was another room on our booking so I had to use their shower which is terrible! Really disappointed in this and will not be staying in future. Stay if you don't need anything or help at all, if you need anything don't bother!

We stayed 1 night due to as the apartment we rented was flooded the night before our arrival. It was small, a very tiny bathroom, but a great bargain if you just plan to sleep there. Breakfast is a neighboring restaurant, not at the bed and breakfast as advertised out front.
This is a townhome converted into about 15 small rooms.
Convenient location to grocery stores and the tube.
