This was the second trip to London for my wife and I. I will say this hotel was 10 times better than the hotel we stayed on our previous trip. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Willing to help with any need and offering a glass of champagne to us after the happy hour was over, or to the complimentary coke I received one night. The doorman keeping our luggage till the room was ready or the concierge getting theater tickets for us. Top notch all around. Thank you Ashburn.

Clean, comfortable and easy access to restaurants and attractions. All of the staff were very attentive and polite - Syle in particular was so very helpful. We would recommend the Ashburn to anyone traveling to London and would definitely stay there again.

The Ashburn is just 2 minutes walk from Gloucester Road Underground station and was perfect for our long weekend break in London. We were greeted on arrival by the hotel manager and were quickly in our room. The hotel is small, having about 40 rooms, but is clean and comfortable. The rooms are not the biggest, but were fine for a couple, with sufficient wardrobe space, a small but adequate bathroom and a large, firm bed, with pillows to sink into at night. We really liked the extra touches, such as providing dressing gowns and new slippers for each guest and a little free luxury item for the lady in the party on the bedside table each day.

Having arrived at the end of March we were just on the transition period from Winter to Spring, so the air-con in the room was still set to Winter heating mode, whereas the weather outside was quite warm. This setting is unfortunately controlled building wide, so we could not over-ride the setting in our room (top floor) to provide cooling air. This meant we needed to have the windows open to provide cooler air, which also meant increased traffic noise.

Breakfast was in the small dining room in the basement. The continental breakfast was provided as part of our room charge (not sure if this applies to all) and was more than adequate, with a choice of toast, fresh & dried fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheese, yoghourt, fruit juice and tea or coffee. The dining room is a little cramped, with twelve tables for two in there, but was fine for breakfast, which is served over a three hour period.

There is a pleasant lounge / bar area on the ground floor next to Reception, with comfortable chairs, tables and a TV. A limited, but good quality, range of drinks are offered at the bar at reasonable prices. The staff were always friendly and very helpful, even delivering our choice of newspaper to the room each morning.

The hotel is situated close to the Museum area (Natural History / Science / V&A) and a short walk to Kensington Palace, so is ideally placed if you want to explore the tourist areas of London.

Dear Guest,

I am so pleased to read your positive comments on Tripadvisor. It’s wonderful to hear that you had a great time in London and enjoyed your stay with us.

i am sorry about the AC issue normally these done without us getting comment about them, with weather been hot and cold this march we couldn't fully change it, We always try to ensure that our guests enjoy a memorable stay and we try to create a home away from home experience so I’m pleased that you felt well looked after.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future.

Cozy, clean, extremely confortable bed, nice and helping staff, excellent location - close to subway station and restaurants. Breakfast is enjoyable, with a nice jazz music in the background! They even offer wine for the guests in the living room in the evening, and magazines and the daily newspaper. Bathroom is small but with a good shower. I also liked the water bottles offered in the room, you don't have to be buying water outside. Room is also small but lovely! I'd stay there forever...

Great hotel, my daughter and I stayed for a weekend in March. Lovely stay, lovely room, friendly attentive staff, great cocktails too. Would chose to stay here again. Hotel very close to tube and big bus tours, few restaurants around to complete the evening.

We stayed at this hotel last week, it is ideally situated to get into the centre of London, but not pay Central London prices & no congestion charge. Good rooms, service was also efficient & good breakfast in the morning. Will definitely use this hotel when next in London
