“Honeymoon in England”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Ok.. when we were deciding on a place to spend our honeymoon (and first transcontinental trip), we didn't want to stay at a chain hotel. We searched and searched based on location, and eventually found the Ashburn. We could NOT have made a better choice. Excellent staff. EXCEPTIONALLY accommodating to their guests. The rooms were absolutely a perfect size. Concierge was always extremely helpful. It honestly made our trip so much more amazing than it could have been otherwise. The only mishap, was a cleaning lady knocked over one of my cologne bottles and broke it. The front desk person *I can't remember her name!!*, was honest and forthright and incredibly apologetic. She offered several reasonable solutions to remedy the problem. However, in the end we enjoyed the complimentary wine! Thank you again Ashburn. The next time London is on the itinerary, you have repeat customers.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2nd floor and heard literally ZERO noise. Everything was perfect in that room.

Dear Guest,

I am glad to hear Ashburn Hotel experience, has completed your honeymoon this is the least we can do to make our guest feel comfortable and feel home away from home.
your comments is very much appreciated and I will share it with the rest of the team

I am sorry about cologne bottle incident, we are very careful with our guest belongings and our HK team briefed daily how to handle this.

We hope to see you again in the near future

Best Regards

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

We recently spent 5 nights this boutique hotel. It is very nicely designed and our room was quite spacious and comfortable. The only downside of this room was that the shower hoses were confusing and every time we had them right the cleaner changed them back.
The bed and room were comfortable and cosy, and after 5 days we actually felt a little sad to be leaving.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in a nice sun lit area and Jenny always had a friendly smile for everyone it was a good start to the day. Also "thank you" Ashmore for the daily treat. Proximity to the tube and hop on hop off tours is good as well as being able to walk to many other sites. 10 minutes walk to a good laundromat and some nice restaurants and a good supermarket are within a minute.
This was the first stay of a 6 week holiday and it was a big positive.

We were very happy with this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, our room was comfortable and quiet, breakfast was good and there were plenty of places to eat close by. Location is good - close to Gloucester Road tube station and several museums, Albert Hall. would we stay there again? Definitely yes!

We really enjoyed our three-day stay at the Ashburn during our first trip to England. After a red-eye from Ohio, we took the "tube" to the Gloucester station and easily walked to the hotel, where we were warmly welcomed and given our room early. The concierge was especially helpful in giving us hints on finding our way around London and getting some tickets. We walked back to the Gloucester station and got on the Hop On Hop Off bus to tour the city, which worked out well for two days until we figured out how to travel the tube to and from our hotel (very convenient). Our room was a little small but a good size for a city hotel and very nice and clean. The bed was wonderful. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We especially enjoyed the complimentary glass of Prosecco each evening in the lounge where we could sit and unwind or talk with other guests. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.
Hint: The hotel does not face Cromwell Rd. so you will not find it on the street view of Google Maps.

Room Tip: Our room was on an upper floor and we were not bothered by street noise. The windows did a good job...

Delighted with this hotel and very welcome after long haul flight. Staff very obliging as room available for early check in and upgraded to Superior King. Whisper quiet, wonderful bedding and all enabling a peaceful and restful catch up sleep. Close to Gloucester Tube and so to everything else. Continental breakfast very adequate and dining room cosy. Free WIFI always an added bonus. Would not hesitate in recommending this hotel for a London stay.

Room Tip: Can only comment on Superior King but the bath tub makes for a relaxing end to a usually busy day

On arrival the hotel is very nice, rooms were a good size although the bathroom was quite small. We had water leaking from a downlight when we arrived and staff were very quick to send someone up to fix it. The hotel is close to Gloucester Road tube stop (5 minute walk) which is very convenient for getting around. However at the moment, if you are coming from the airport you will need to change trains to get to Gloucester Road or get off at Earls Court and walk form there (around 10 - 15 minutes).
The only con was that the room has curtains and no blinds behind them so we found the sun glaring in through the side gaps in the curtains from early. Luckily we are early risers.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing you thought about your recent stay with us, I am glad to hear that the rooms were comfortable and our hotel located in convenient area that suited your trip need.

I am sorry to hear about the water leak which was caused by the AC, this was due to the high pressure the units had that day. our engineers have looked into the whole the system and ensure this wont happen again.

We hope to see you again in the near future

Kind Regards

The hotel is small and intimate. The room was spacious and I liked the bathroom fixings and all the details. Breakfast is served downstairs and is of good quality although potentially of limited variety. But for me it suited my needs. The location is excellent if you are going to explore Kensington and the museums like the Natural History, V&A and Space Museum. Very close to the Royal Albert hall and Imperial College as well.
