Very friendly and helpful staff!
As an American, this was my first encounter with a very nice hotel chain. Rooms are reasonable size (unlike previous experiences with other hotels in central London) and kept neat and clean. Many signs posted reminding other visitors to keep quiet during evening hours.
Here's something that we found unusual, but not really bad: self-service check-in. You insert your credit card, answer on-screen questions, then room keys and receipt are returned! Yet the staff was always at hand and very friendly to answer questions, handle luggage, etc. Expect to find self-service check-in at US hotels some day.
Even though this hotel is in metropolitan London, it was farther out of central London than I had expected. Expect 45 minutes minimum via subway (Underground).
Unfortunately, there was construction work on the Underground that closed the Hanger Lane station. This may continue off and on during weekends for some time.
Sadly, an Underground strike was threatened during our planned stay. Consequently, we left early for Oxford instead.
