“Great Staff”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

Great staff as well as convenient location. Every staff member greeted guests with water, directions, etc. Near the tube and Regents Park. Rooms were large compared to most European hotel rooms. Enjoyed our stay!

We were very pleased with the hotel itself- we've stayed there for 5 nights. The hotel is close to the metro station, room was very clean, mattresses and pillows very comfortable, but the staff is the special touch. Special thanks to Gabriela from the reception desk. She was our "guardian angel" during our stay.
If we will be in London again for sure we'll stay at Marriott Regents Park.

We were overall pleased with the hotel itself. We stayed 5 nights and used points. I chose this hotel because of the good reviews and it required fewer points than the other Marriott hotels in central London. If I had it to do over again I might have stayed somewhere else. I assumed there would be plenty going on around the area but it was truly surrounded by residential and there wasn't much within walking distance (other than the Swiss Cottage Tube Station) so to run out for dinner in the area you had to catch a cab. The cabs were always available in front of the hotel. Places would call a car for you as well to get back to the hotel.
We had a King bed on the 6th floor and it was nice - standard Marriott which is what I would expect. The only issue with the room was the air conditioning. Granted it was the middle of a heat wave but we could never get it cool enough for sleeping at night even though we called and they did come to adjust it but same results. Our room looked out on a busy street but we weren't really bothered by the traffic noise. We sleep with a white noise machine so that probably helped. We asked for a room with a view but guess you don't get that if you are paying with points.
One afternoon we got back to the hotel about 5:30 and they were still cleaning the room so they left while we showered to go back out for the evening. A manager coming by to inspect the room knocked on the door then let himself in before I could answer! Fortunately I was dressed! I usually keep the secondary lock on and didn't that time. A bit disconcerting.
We had access to the executive lounge and that was really terrific! We ate a big breakfast every morning and in the evenings they served enough to make dinner, and beer and wine all evening. Can't say enough about that. I still dream of that Brie cheese! All complimentary. Don't understand why they put hot beer out because it took a couple of hours to get cold in the little fridge. There was also an outdoor patio that was pleasant once the sun went down. The staff in the executive lounge was great too.
The concierge has a list of pubs and eateries near by and we did try a little french restaurant in Primrose Hill that was good. This wasn't on their list but I highly recommend the Ordnance Pub a block down from the St John Wood tube stop, one tube stop before Swiss Cottage. A real neighborhood pub. Skip the nearby Camden Market, more junk than neat market. We stayed 30 minutes and left.
I was so impressed by how helpful everyone was everywhere we went. I can't count the number of people who just stopped to volunteer directions, helped with figuring out tube stops or bus stops, and pointing us in the right direction. Wouldn't get that in a lot of big American cities. The only jerk we encountered was at the ticket desk in a rail station. I had a very hard time figuring out the Oyster cards. My intention was to buy the 7 day travel pass which covered the tube, rail and bus. Not sure if that's what I actually had or not. It worked every where I went but the train stations were super confusing to me and they told me I needed to top off the card which I shouldn't have had to do....I don't know.
The weather was really warm and so many of the places aren't air conditioned so that made it a bit unpleasant with the huge crowds this time of year. Evenings were delightful though.
It is super expensive over there right now with the exchange rate around $1.71 to the pound. Plan carefully!

We come to London 2 or 3 times a year and always come in February, We wanted a hotel with a swimming pool and I like the Tube so the 10 minute trip to the centre of London suited us well.
We arrived about 9pm on a Friday Night and had Dinner, Service was impeccable and our waiter was lovely. We stayed here for 4 nights, The room was immaculate and the beds very comfortable.
Location isn't the best but as I said, If you don't mind a quick Tube ride then it is fine.
Swimming Pool is great too but there is a spiral staircase between the pool and changing rooms so you have to be extra careful.
Service was great and Check in/ Check out were both efficient
Overall it was a great experience and we hope to come here again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your excellent review of the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park and for awarding us 5 stars – we are delighted that you were pleased with our hotel. As you mention, we are located a few minutes out of the heart of London when travelling by underground, which means that we can offer our guests more spacious facilities and more competitive rates than many central London hotels.

Thank you again for your comments and we hope that you will choose to stay with us again on your next visit to London.

We were visiting London for 7 days from California. We got a "family room" which is just a normal double by American standards (2 Queen sized beds, not a suite or anything). Room was clean and in good repair. Down comforters were heavenly. Convenient to Jubilee Line which gets you lots of places. Not many places to eat in walking distance, we were there 7 days and ended up going to some places twice. We don't prefer Indian food which is what the Marriott restaurant specializes in. Business center is outdated and printers didn't work when I was there so had to e-mail tickets to concierge to print. Breakfast was included in our package (at about $15/day per person since we bought 4) and there was a large selection from pastries to English standards, to Continental. Pool is fine but only open to kids until 8:00 at night then adults only. I'd recommend it although it was very expensive given the terrible exchange rate when we went.

Room Tip: We moved from street side of hotel on 3rd floor to quiet side of hotel on 5th floor because it was r...

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay at the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park and also for sharing photos of our restaurant and view from your balcony - we are glad to see that you had the chance to enjoy London in the sunshine!

It is lovely to read that you would recommend the hotel and we appreciate all your feedback. We would like to take this opportunity to add that there is a wide choice of eateries and restaurants in nearby Finchley Road and Primrose Hill; our Concierge is available in the lobby for more information and directions. Regarding the swimming pool, opening hours for children are between 08:00 and 20:00hrs Monday to Thursday, and between 06:00 and 23:00hrs Friday to Sunday (the Leisure Club is open between 06:00 and 23:00hrs for adults daily). We are sorry that you were affected by the road in your initial room, but glad that your second room was more suitable. We are pleased to inform you that we are currently adding an additional layer of glazing to all the windows of the rooms overlooking the main road which should solve this issue - this project is due to be completed by the end of this week.

Thank you again for your comments and feedback. We hope you and your family had a brilliant time in London and we hope to welcome you all back in the future.

Perfect location for the cricket, we walked to Lords and back taking in St John's Wood High Street. Having suffered some terribly hard hotel beds and pillows these were notably very comfortable. There's a pool and gym and a small outside space and we got a great rate.

We had an overnight stay in a family room in July. Situated a short walk from the nearest tube we found it a great base for travelling around London. Check in was well organised. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was more than adequate. Very clean and well furnished. Two king size beds. Bathroom was fine. Bar and restaurant were well staffed and had a decent menu. I would use this hotel again. Good location and excellent staff.
