This is a wonderful Victorian edifice a ten minute walk from Euston Station. Although slightly faded
the entrance hall and stairs are magnificent. . Staff are very friendly and the breakfast was of a high standard. The bar is pricey so be careful what you order or go elsewhere. We were in London to visit the British Natural History Museum which is only 15 mins away.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on one of the top floors, facing Russell Square

Fabulous old redbrick building and great location right in the centre of London a few meters from Russell Square tube. Unfortunately the interior was a bit tired and could do with a refurb. It reminded my of my Grandma's house - except bigger. The wi-fi is also expensive. They could do with some extra staff on reception in the morning as the check out queue was long so if you had a simple question you had to wait about 15-20 minutes to ask it.

Was there for an event on Thursday 20th March, had meetings afterwards in the bar (£4:50 for a cup of tea!) the cloakroom wanted to finish early so they had trouble finding my coat. Unfortunately during the process I put my phone down near the concierge desk. Next morning early they confirmed they had found it, I asked them to post urgently, recorded, next day delivery, whatever the cost (travelling on the Monday). I emailed the same and asked for confirmation of receipt, I rang later to confirm all had been received and was being processed. Was told that they may not get Saturday delivery but were on the way to the Post office - I confirmed I needed it urgently, whatever the cost.

Tuesday - still no phone, rang them, they did not post until the Monday, first class only, not recorded, not next day delivery.

How incompetent and uncaring can you get? this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, has fancy doormen that make them look like they provide service - but obviously is all show.

I will NOT be holding my next event at this hotel, ever staying there, meeting there or recommending it to anyone - in fact the opposite.

I'd read a few reviews a day prior to staying which weren't complimentary but I have to say they didn't match my experience.

Easy to reach hotel from Euston Station and Russell Square tube. Beautiful stairs....... receptionists professional, booking in easy, Concierge helpful.

I had a suite (7th floor) ......... it was wonderful ..........clean, tidy, welcoming, toiletries plentiful, a mini fridge with 2 bottles water chilling...... a wonderful comfy bed (best nights sleep I had for months .......... was there any street noise in central London that night?!!!).

Towels ........ definitely passed my fluffy test!

Room Tip: Well located beautiful hotel

I have stayed at this Hotel many times for the past 15 years. The character of the building, the renovations, close to the tranquility of Russell Square and the Tube Station are a real attraction for me.

The silly thing is the huge surcharge for internet, I think it was 10 or 15 pounds for 24 hours...this is ridiculous and likely costing the hotel an immense loss of business travelers. When in a foreign country Internet is the life blood for communication and with two little computers in a small business centre, I felt I was back in time.

As a long serving guest from Canada, please revise this policy and provide free wifi like most other hotels I travel to around the world...your policy is not well thought out from a business perspective, the benefits will outway whatever revenue you are getting from this silly charge in todays wireless market.
