“Excellent location, Summer sale special great value”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

I stayed at the Mandeville as I wanted a central London location

PROS:
Fantastic Location (West End, Off Oxford Street)
Great Summer Sale pricing (Starting at GBP 120)
Free WiFi .
Concierge was very helpful in getting taxis, directions etc
They have a restaurant/bar called the Reform which I did not try but had people inside even at 11PM on a Tuesday so it must be good

NOT SO GOOD:
I booked a room as a "single" but I did not expect a room with a single bed :)
So it was cramped, because single or double you still have luggage etc to deal with

I would recommend the Mandeville to most travellers primarily due to location
and if you can get a deal on pricing its really good

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the front road; I overlooked a buidling

Location and cleanliness was amazing. Few min walk to oxford street and rooms were impeccably clean.
Size of rooms were small, typical of London, and they even have me a wheelchair accessible room. It was a bit wider then usual but not much. For someone who does not require a wheelchair, a heads up that my bathroom sink etc was going to be extremely low would of been nice.
Biggest issue I had was the Wifi. What hotel chArges 400+ £ per night and has the equivalent to dial-up connection. For the entire time I was there, it was in/out of connection and when it was working.... It was EXTREMELYYYYYY slow. I got no work done as it literally took me 5 minutes to load every single webpage. I complained twice, yet everyone seemed to think that was normal and nothing was done. I have stayed at cheaper hotels and more expensive hotels and I have never experienced wifi this bad.

Concierges were very quick and efficient.
If you're looking for amazing central location, this has it. If you're looking for other things in a hotel... You can def find it elsewhere and for cheaper.

Very efficient and attentive concierge however room very small and average for what we paid. We also brought a bottle of champagne with us to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and I was extremely disappointed to be charged for use of an ice bucket... Just felt anything extra with the room came at an unreasonable cost... Otherwise great location and friendly staff

This is a perfect location. Walking distance to great shopping on Regent, great restaurants, and tube station. The door man was so helpful in getting a taxi when needed. The desk staff was friendly other than one lady who was less than friendly. Room was clean and had good space. Food was good but pricey. Would definitely stay here again!

I left a review for this hotel around 12 months ago stating that we had stayed before without any issues but that that particular visit was not too good because of the room. We decided to give the Mandeville another try and it genuinely did seem like a different hotel. It has a new Manager, Phillipe, and I suspect his attention and professionalism has something to do with it. We were warmly welcomed, upgraded to a suite and a bottle of champagne awaited our return from sight-seeing for my birthday. So. Provided you don't get a low rise room at the back of the hotel I have no hesitation in saying this is a great hotel whose location cannot be beaten.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at the back of the hotel on lower levels.

The staff at the hotel make you feel at home. They are very caring and the hotel itself is excellent. Excellent location. Choose the executive rooms as they are larger and offer more room space. This was our 4 visit to this hotel and it has become our preferred choice of stay.

Room Tip: The quiet rooms are at the back.

The Mandeville is a stones throw from Marylebone High Street and Selfridges. It's central but quiet, elegant but not stuffy, with good service. We stayed for a weekend - perfect for a short escape to London. Free internet in the rooms, clean and comfortable.
