Stayed last weekend at the Travelodge Covent Garden on Drury Lane, Just for one night but it did the job, arrived at 13.15 but unless we paid £10.00 extra we could not have the room even though it was ready this is due to their check in policy ie after 2.30. The recepionist also said to leave any luggage until 2.30 would also have a charge of £10.00 in other words if you need to just pay and get into your room . As you might imagine basic but clean tv , Tea and Coffee were available with extra in reception if required. Its about a 10 min walk / stroll to all the theatre attractions and some decent bars and restaurants. All in All good weekend. We were on the 9th floor so didnt hear too much traffic or party people.

Room Tip: book in advance call them if you have a specific request 9th floor ok

Located in the heart of London like all Travelodge's you know what you are getting. The rooms were clean but quite small. The bed was comfy and there was a TV with the basic channels. There were no extras, hairdryer, shampoo etc although there was a kettle and some tea and freeze dried coffee.
The view was great though - looked out over London and the Eye.
Although we didn't have the breakfasts - they did look very good value for money. The hotel has wifi and a bar. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
As well as a reception they have machines for checking in which can save you time if there is quite a queue. You pay on arrival so checking out is quick and just a case of dropping off the key before you leave.
For the price and location it is good value for money - I have stayed in much worse places at more expensive prices.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are quite restrictive - little space to walk around the bed.

Thank you for your review JFHF, we are pleased to learn you found our rooms to be clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we do not provide hair dryers in the rooms however they can be borrowed from reception, subject to availability. Although we do not provide toiletries in the rooms, customers have the option to purchase toiletries from vending machines at reception should they need to, this allows us to continue to offer great rates in great locations.

Travelodge is extremely well located, right in the heart of London. Most theatres are a walking distance from the hotel and there are plenty of pubs around. The place is very close to Leicester Square, Piccadilly, Regent and Oxford street.

The room sizes are big compared to other London hotels. The English breakfast is average and is the same spread everyday. The rooms are basic with no amenities. They only provide towels and a soap though you can buy the shampoos from a vending machine on the ground floor. Also, there is no phone in the rooms which can be a hassle sometimes.

The Staff is nice and friendly and don't hesitate to change your room if you have any issues.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floor have good views of the city

Spent 4 nights at this venue for a family get together. Great location to access from Heathrow on the tube. Accomadation quite basic but very clean, warm and lots of hot water for showers and baths. Rooms are a decent size and have good lighting. Coffee and tea facilities provided in rooms. Hair dryers are available from reception on request and appeared readily available at all times. The reception staff were extremely helpful and pleasant throughout our stay.

You know what you're getting with Travelodge, a very basic functional room, no charm or frills, but no nasty shocks either. The problem comes when that budget room comes at a non budget price, as is the case here. At £100+ per room it's hard to overlook how plain and economical everything is, from the hospital style lighting to the clinically basic bathroom. It's not bad as such, it's just not good, and at that cost there are better alternatives available in a similar price range. Finally as others have said the location is good, but to call it Covent Garden is perhaps a stretch, as it's about a 10 minute walk away

You pay on arrival at this travelodge split over two drury lane locations. Basic room but you get a bar of soap and 5, yes 5 TV channels. The bed is big and comfortable though and the location is great for enjoying covent garden in the run up to Christmas.

I stay here when down in London visiting clients situated on the Strand. The hotel is a standard Travelodge and does exactly as it says on the tin. However it does this very well. The rooms of a good size and very clean. Beds are very comfortable. The cooked breakfast is more than decent.... Especially the sausages! Staff are always pleasant and helpful. However, there is often a queue at reception desk and guests can be stood there for long periods of time. There are self service machines for self check in which are very easy to use. The bar, is open til very late. We were still being served at 4am. Not sure if it closes to be honest! There is also a wonderful pub just around the corner called The white Heart. The hotel is very central to lots of London's highlights. Covent garden with all its bars and restaurants, is a 10 minute walk. I've also walked from kings cross a couple of times and takes roughly 25 minutes. All in all I like staying here. It's clean, central and has everything I need in walking distance.
