“Great Budget Hotel”
Reviewed 31 July 2012

Just stayed in this hotel for 3 days, whilst at the olympics, great budget hotel, in a great location, close to the tube, room was a bit on the small side, but had everything you needed, room nice and clean, staff really pleasant and helpful, breakfast good value for money, restaurant good food also.
If you are looking for a budget hotel in a great location, this is a little gem, go and you wont be dissapointed.

Good location to explore london. Hotel is within 5-10min walk to Lambeth North station. Central station is within a few stops away and is less than half hour journey. The room is quite big considering it is a budget hotel. Free wifi available. However, the price is abit high, maybe cos i stayed during london olympics period.

Room Tip: Choose higher floors rooms- less noise.

My wife and I are just back from a 10-night stay at the Days Inn and overall we enjoyed it very much due to the hotel's central location just 10 minutes' walk from Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. It's also just five minutes' walk from the tube at Lambeth North underground station. The full English cooked breakfasts in the hotel are very good, and there's also an excellent choice of fruit and cereals. Staff were very friendly and helpful, bar was clean and well furbished and pints of Stella 4 per cent were very good. We did also have a few problems however. When booking online we'd asked for a quiet room a few floors up, but we ended up on the second floor where you could regularly hear police car sirens as the hotel is very near a police station. Room 213 was small and cramped with a tiny wardrobe. TV reception was fairly poor with some channels not working but the biggest disappointment was the shower, which was the worst I'd ever experienced. The water flow came out with a trickle and it only stayed lukewarm for a few seconds before going cold. I ended up abandoning the shower totally after a couple of bad experiences to wash myself over the sink instead. We'd told reception about the poor shower just a couple of days into the holiday and, although a handyman came up to check it out within a few minutes, he claimed there was nothing wrong with it after running the shower water over his hand. He said that, where he came from, the water flow was hot! This left my wife and I wondering if he was from the North Pole. As I say though, overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in a reasonably priced hotel in London which is a great base for you to go and see the numerous attractions of this great city.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor

The best thing about Days Inn is it's location - only a two minute walk from Lambeth North tube station and a ten minute (if that) walk to Westminster Bridge. The hotel is fairly basic, but modern and clean. Nothing is too much trouble for staff and they make you feel welcome without being 'over the top'. Our room was clean, as was our bathroom. We had clean towels daily and our bedding was changed during our stay - excellent as we only stopped for three nights.

The breakfast was included in our deal (through Superbreak, an excellent company), we could have cereals, toast, and a cooked breakfast. If we had asked for the continental option we would have been disappointed as there were no cooked meats, only one type of cheese (red leicester) and croissants, the only fruit being apples. As we sticked to the cooked option it was not a problem.

The only thing that let the hotel down was the temperature of the room. The window have safely catches on so only open a couple of inches, therefore making the room very stuffy, though there are fans in the room, it just doesn't do enough. The bedding only consisted of a heavy duvet, so it was very warm at night as we could not just have a sheet over us, we had to have a duvet more apt for winter. As a result I only got about ten hours sleep over three nights.

Would I stop again? Yes as it is reasonably priced, clean and in an excellent location.

Enjoyed our stay here, room was very clean, very good selection at breakfast and very close (about a 2 minute walk) to the tube station. Others had been complaining about noise from the police station right across the road, we however found we were so tired from walking about London all day that we slept through it! Would definitely stay here again.

A short stroll from Lambeth North tube and opposite a very acceptable pub, the three stags. Although my room was a tad cramped it was very clean. One exception being the shower which was tatty, mouldy on the rubber seals and took ages to get hot. Did not eat here so cannot comment. Would use again just for the location

The hotel is located very close to the Lambert North tube station, and within a walking distance from Waterloo train station. The room is comfortable as well as the bed. Small drawbacks: it is nice to save but the soap arrangement is not that convenient. A second drawback - very small space to hang up clothes.
