So Paddington provided a very comfortable and nice stay to me and my friends during our trip to London
.
Location and Ambiance is great. Hotel Staff is really very helpful and supportive.

Strongly recommend this to my friends and family.

Room Tip: Rooms with the windows to the Garden provide a very nice view.

Came back from London on Tuesday and stayed in so paddington for 2 nights. Its wasn't as bad as people have made it out to be on trip advisor. It was in a good location with loads of restaurants and bars nearby and the station just across the road. Also when you came out the hotel there was hop on hop off bus stop right there. The staff were helpfully and we had no problems checking in when we arrived,we filled in a form and handled keys and was settled in room within 10 mins on arriving. The rooms were small and the bathroom was a lot bigger than the actually bedroom. The rooms could do with a re paint and maybe more accessories e.g canvas's,vaeses and Mirror in the room just to bright it up.We only went done for breakfast the one morning and didn't rate it very much. There was cereal, toast, crumpets but it didn't really appeal to us but okay if you were staying with a family if you wanted to save money.

I did my booking at booking.com and i stayed there from june 12th-june 15th 2014
My first impression was : OMG! this hotel remind me of Amsterdam, the small door and the stairs , no elevator, small reception.

Is not that bad as it look, some of the room have been re-painted and for me it look ok.
If you're not gonna spend your day just to have some where to sleep this is good for you.

-Comfy bed
-got your own bathroom
- close to the Paddington station and near the bus stop
- near the famous Hyde Park
- the staff are very friendly
- breakfast is very simple but it's included (so stop complaining) if you want a real breakfast just go out to the Cafe near the hotel and have your breakfast there and its very good too.
- Free Wifi and thats very important for many of us, and its very strong connection, there's a small garden just opposite the hotel which i spend my 3 hours there and i can use the Wifi from the hotel as well. Very good connection i think its about 20-30 m away.
Some of the hotel in London you have to pay for using Wifi and some is for free.

- Check out time is between 11-12 so it's very good, because if you search for hotel in London most of the hotel have check out time between 9-11

- Location is perfect very easy to find the hotel.
-Great view from my room 305 you can see the Norfolk Square Garden just opposite the hotel, is very good in the summer time just go there and relax/picknick

- And there's Burger King just around the corner also McDonals if you want fast food.
- Local pub nearby and also many good restaurant
- The bus tour stop nearby if you want to go for a sightseeing tour around London.

This hotel is good for those who are not pick about small things, yeah it's true that the room are tiny but the bed is very comfy.

I would recommend this hotel for :
-back packers
-single person or also couple

All the hotel in London are very expensive everywhere, and they offer different price and facility
i would recommend using the booking site like booking.com, they have great smart deal and book in advance plan your trip early.

Of course there's also some negative about the hotel:

- the wardrobe which you can't hang your clothes
- No garbage bin in the room only in the bathroom
-no fan ,it's very hot in the summer, so i sleep with windown open but it can be very noisy on a friday nite.
- NO MIRROR!!! just the small one in the bathroom
- the water is abit to hot tho
- tiny shower
- very small TV

over all for me it's ok, i spend most of my day doing things outdoor : go out at 11 am and come back to the hotel around 6 pm rest then go out for dinner and back to sleep.

Room Tip: ask for room 305 :) great view comfy bed

The only good thing was the location, being very close to Paddington Station and well connected with buses as well.
The rooms were very small and the water was cold and trickling from the shower.
Breakfast was extremely poor.

Room Tip: Stay away!!

Stayed there one night only which I booked this at the very last minute without checking this site first. Big mistake!
The only positive comment I have is it's location - walking distance from Paddington.
A very, very basic and scruffy room in a run down building. My door was damaged and looked as if it had been broken into. None of the furniture matched. Bathroom was dirty. Bed was comfortable enough, but the bed linen, like the room itself, was very tired as was the bathroom linen. TV was tiny (12" screen). Very small and poorly maintained shower and toilet.
Didn't sleep too well because I kept the window closed because of the noise, which made the room too warm. As you'd expect there was no AC.
Didn't have the breakfast, so can't comment.
The So Paddington is not cheap. I've stayed at comparable priced hotels around Paddington which offer a far better service and greater value for money than this. I know there is a superior hotel across the road for at least £30 less.
I'm afraid this was an experience, and not a particularly cheap one, to be repeated. I've stayed in some pretty poor establishments around the World, but this rates as one of the worst hotels I've used. This is not a great advertisement for London.
Other than the helpful reception staff plus it's closeness to Paddington Station, I have nothing positive to report on this hotel.
I would not (not) recommend So Paddington to anyone.

This has to have been the worst experience I have ever had in any hotel, It is very very rundown, old and not a bit nice, I would even go as far to say it is not very clean. The rooms are tiny and have not been decorated I would guess in decades, the ensuite is tiny with a shower that is less then healthy, there is no plug in the drain and the smell coming from it had me gaging I stayed two nights and refused to shower instead opting to stand at the sink and wash, the bed was supposed to be a double (I requested a twin) but was only a queen and the carpet under foot felt filthy walking around in your bare feet is not adviseable, There was no head board and the paper all over the room was peeling off, and the breakfast also left a lot to be desired not a great selection and not very fresh did not eat here on second day, would advise anyone looking at this hotel to keep looking very very disappointing, Plus they take full payment on booking with a no money back policy on cancellation.
And this I may add was one of the better rooms.

Room Tip: Do not book here, keep looking
