“There really isn't anything wrong with this hotel ”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

You may have looked through some of the reviews on this page and seen how poorly rated they have been, well, in a way you can see what they are on about, but for goodness sake if you want luxury go to the Rits!
We were greeted at reception by a lady who wasn't English but spoke the language perfectly so those who say the receptionists don't speak English maybe had a completely different receptionist.
We arrived early and the room wasn't ready until 2 but as we were early they let us into our rooms at 1. Good service. After seeing the reviews proir to coming to the hotel I knew that people were unhappy about the size of the room and how they can't move In the bathroom. Also how the electrics were faulty and "oh how awful this place is don't come" was the title of most reviews. In fact, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the size of this room. I could move around in the bathroom. Yes, it was small but not THAT small that people feel claustrophobic. I could only nitpick on 2 things.
1. Tv faulty. Keeps saying no signal and screen keeps fuzzing up
2. Toilet seat doesn't stay up.
Thats it!
Maybe people who booked this hotel and hated it were expecting a 4 star semi-luxury spacious room. Yes, it's basic but definately not dire and you get what you pay for, a basic hotel that you can get up and go. I had a pleasant stay and do take my word for it, it's not that bad.

When we arrived the outside and reception looked promising. The customer service was good but thats were the positives ended. I asked about Wifi and was told we had to pay for it, no complimentary service.. Every other hotel we had stayed at throughout our entire trip (4 weeks) had free Wifi. Thats whats annoying to say the least as we had to purchase internet vouchers to log in. 1 hr = 1 pound…
When we got up to our level we walked out of the lift and i honestly thought there was a heater on or something, the corridors are very humid and warm. We got to our room and it was the same, after looking around for the zircon i realised there wasn't one! I know its not meant to be that hot in london but I couldn't even open the window to let fresh air in, its only opens slightly at the top. We had the small fan going they provided non stop.
The room was clean and tidy but did smell a bit funky. When I went to have a shower it was a pain to open and close the shower door as it slides and folds, not very well I may add. You need to put a bit of force into it.
The breakfast was ok, but really missing any source of protein such as eggs and/or bacon.
I really think if they address these issues within in rooms that the reviews for this hotel would be much better.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with air conditioning

Stayed here for 1 night - from the outside and reception we thought this would be quite nice, but we were wrong ! As soon as we walked into our room we could smell a musty smell, the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom was wet and breaking down, and the carpet outside the bathroom was wet. When we had a shower, we found out why - the shower curtain did nothing to stop water from gushing out of the door. Talked to reception about this and they only gave us towels to put down and air fresher for the smell. Terrible shower. Had to pay for wifi. Very basic breakfast. Although very centrally located, I would never stay here again !

Stayed 1 night in July 2014 as part of Red Letter Day Hotel/Show gift. The show was great. The hotel wasn't.
It looks very nice from photos and from outside and inside on the ground floor. Our cupboard was on 4th floor, seemed like heating was on full blast in the corridor but radiators were cold!!! The double bed was against a wall, almost had to reverse into bathroom as no room to turn around.
Tea coffee is supplied in room. TV was almost impossible to view due to height and direction of screen. Situated between Earls Court Tube and Gloucester Road tube. Breakfast was very poor choice.
I'm not convinced this hotel warrants it's 3* rating.

Room Tip: Pick another hotel.

Last hotel on our European tour ,only I night stay to do hop on hop off bus tour, on arrival staff weren't very friendly , room 401was a shocker ! Threadbare carpet , 3 single beds( I've seen better in backpackers),no where to open suit cases except on bed, poor lighting ,dirty mouldy shower curtain in bath tub with no ventilation , no fridge ,no air conditioning , tiny TV , small desk fan , I went down & asked for air con room & was told there are none ,but we can give you another fan ! Had to pay £5 to leave suitcases till our taxi came to transport us to airport ,a wifi charge where as all other hotels in Europe gave free wifi ,I've never stayed in a place like this in all my travels , my travel agent will be advised also so they don't subject other travellers to such a shocking hotel .

Centrally located, near tube, hop on/hop off bus, restaurants. Room was clean BUT... including entry/bathroom AT MOST 10'x11', VERY HOT (a/c only in lobby) - fan on high 24h/day had little effect. Continental breakfast VERY basic. Except for front desk, staff either had no English or only rudimentary. Fees for wi-fi, luggage storage when waiting for room availability after check-in. Service at front desk poor, unfriendly. One day after touring I was tired and asked to have a cab called; this was refused (!) and I was told I could walk to Harrod's!! Later we discovered they call a "private" (I.e. unregistered) cab and then take a £5 fee back from the driver!!
Do yourself a favour and try to find another hotel!

Room Tip: Room 411 was clean, on front of hotel - noisy at night

The rooms are very small but fairly well maintained.Nearly 1/3 of the staff is from EU Countries and their is English is a bit difficult to follow(especially catering persons). However, this fact applies to perhaps all 2-3 star hotels around this place.
Toilets are small but looked functional without glitches(as were described in other reviews)Continental breakfast is average.
The best plus point is the location.Very near to Central London,West-End,Harrods etc and well connected by underground(nearest station is Earl's Court).Good for tourism and business.

Room Tip: If you want to get a good deal out of this place and you are sure of dates, book early(say 2-3 months...
