We have stayed at some pretty smart hotels on our travels but this takes the biscuit. What fanblous rooms even down to the heated floor in the bathroom. We only stayed the one night but what an experience. It rained the day we were there but ho ho each room had an umbrella in the drawer. Beat that!!!

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the London Eye

What a wonderful Hotel. Made to feel special from the first Reservation confirmation telephone call and at check in/out. Room was beautiful, amazing views of Thames and London Eye, Bathroom Shower with TV great, and all complimentary toiletries a treat. Staff were all fantastic. Breakfast was outstanding, with huge choice of finest ingredients. One of the best Hotels we have ever stayed in, and we will definitely be back. We felt so spoilt and special, and loved our stay. Highly Recommended!! Thank you.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the London Eye view, and as high up as possible. Allow lots of time to thoroughly enjoy the vast and wonderous Breakfast.

I was relocated to this hotel and what a pleasure it was!
The Executive Room was large and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and there were plenty of toiletries. There was a turndown service which was a very pleasant surprise. Service was impeccable all the way through- reception, bar, restaurant, guys on the door, etc. I think that the little extra bits of attention made it 5*. Only one grip- for a hotel as good as this the breakfast selection ion both English and continental styles could have been wider, but perhaps limited space affected this. If breakfast had not been included in the rate, I would probably have gone out to a. Cafe. That aside, I strongly recommend this hotel. You get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Exec room on 6th floor over the street

We have tried several hotels in central London over the years and all gave been good, very good or even excellent. But you always feel there is a little something 'missing'. You cannot put your finger on it.

However the Royal Horseguards left me feeling there was nothing more to want, it was pretty much all there.

It has a liveried doorman, the most attentive of front desk staff, smiling hotel workers going about their duties, there is a buzz abroad, and the hotel exudes a life all of its own.

We booked a junior suite and had hoped for a view, and we got one. Our windows looked out onto a Portland stone balcony and beyond were the plane trees of Embankment Gardens, the Thames, the London Eye almost opposite and views to the left of the City and St Paul's, plus the new skyline seemingly being added to daily.

The room was beautifully appointed (how many hotel rooms do you furnish in your mind's eye with a view to it being your living room? This was no corporate box!). Spacious, tastefully decorated, subtle lighting, a private hallway, very nice en-suite with a TV above the bath so you can watch soaps and use them at the same time!

The corridors were spotless and silent, the lifts elegant and polished, the dining room for breakfast was laid out with space in mind - no elbowing other guests to get to your table.

Admin was efficient, thorough, friendly and welcoming.

Any gripes? The lighting system was a bit of a mystery and maybe blind to pull down in the bathroom? Net curtains are fine during the day but at night...

Room Tip: Definitely try for a room overlooking the Thames.

The Royal Horseguards has become our hotel of choice when we come up to London. It has style without pretension. The foyer is so beautiful, with candles, flowers and an open fire. The harpist added to the calm, luxurious feel to our arrival. All rooms have been comfortable, although undoubtedly the best was the King Double with a view of the river. We stayed in an Executive Double this time, which was very spacious and had a wonderful view over the rooftops. The birthday cupcake in the room was a welcome surprise and the attention given by all staff was excellent. The hotel is very well situated, with easy access to theatres and the South Bank. We look forward to our next visit in March.
