“Fantastic Short stay!”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

Wonderful location and 2min walk to tube. Arrived late in evening bright, open and welcoming public area/with awesome bed comfort and had a gr8 sound sleep. Comfortable, rooms looked new and certainly clean. Will be seeking this out on next trip.

I stayed for one night on business. I selected this hotel due to location, it is literally next door to a meeting venue. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the hotel.

I had a very small room, but it was comfortable with great facilities and was well laid out. The bathroom was also small, but it had a TV and was well stocked with toiletries and other nice touches. There were excellent staff throughout the hotel, a comfortable bar area and breakfast was excellent.

Definitely a preferred London destination for me in the future.

This hotel has become a home from home for me when staying in London.

Having stayed a lot in hotels in Asia where they know just how to get customer service right, I have to say the staff match it.

There are two staff that stand out that go way beyond the call of duty, one is Renata who heads the reception desk with the other being Shane the night manager.

To me quality of staff is more important than the hotel itself; even so the hotel is top quality and the rooms just allow you to be happy to stay in them, rather than escape to leave as is the case with so many.

Add to this free excellent internet and it is indeed a good package.

If there was any complaint it would be that the booking system is not price friendly to business users.

Thank you for your kind words I can assure you I have passed your comments onto Renata, Shane and the rest of the team, they are very thankful to receive such great feedback from you. Our one night stay at the Royal Horseguards was exceptional. The staff, from the doorman onwards, couldn't have been more professional, friendly or welcoming and the ambience of the hotel was exquisite.

Following Tripadvisor reviews, we had requested a river view and our 2nd floor bedroom was beautiful with an outlook straight onto the Thames and across the river to the South Bank and the London Eye.

Breakfast was excellent and, again, we experienced exceptional service.

Other reviewers have described the hotel as relaxed and elegant and I would not disagree. I couldn't recommend the Royal Horseguards more highly - definitely the best hotel I have stayed at in London to date.

Room Tip: Definitely try to get a deluxe room with a river view.

Re posted as my overall rating was incorrect on my last report - sorry !

We found the location ideal as a central London base - great river views from our room on the 3rd floor. Initially we were in a much more basic room on the 9th floor but asked to be upgraded and ended in room 312 which was beautiful.

We had pre dinner drinks in the bar - lovely - and then a set meal in the resturant also delicious - a little surprised with the hefty tip automatically added upon check out. Possibly avoid coffee in the bar - not as good as costa will blow your socks off and £6 a cup !

We would return as the service, location and overall experience was excellent.

Room Tip: we would avoid the 9th floor !

We stayed one night at this elegant hotel, just a block from the Thames, in October. The staff were very professional and accommodating, our room was elegant and the bathroom spacious. My one complaint was that we faced the inner "courtyard" - windows didn't even open and no view whatsoever. We could have upgraded, but for 1 night didn't bother. Breakfast prices were very high, but we found a lovely cafe just a block to the North, under the bridge, in a lovely little park. We had a traditional English breakfast for 1/3 the price of the hotel. We could easily walk to Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, The Eye, and enjoyed the historical setting very much.

Room Tip: Ask for outside rooms if you want a view.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at The Royal Horseguards Hotel. I am pleased to read of your lovely experience with us and would like to politely inform you that we are currently undergoing a design refurbishment and are reviewing how to improve the inner facing rooms to resolve any issues for the future. However, I am glad to see you found the room elegant and the bathroom to be spacious. We take all feedback into great consideration and I can assure you I have passed your comments onto the team. We are truly honoured to be amongst the neighbours that we are, being so close to some of London’s top attractions.
