“The perfect afternoon tea Baby Shower venue!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2014

Needed a venue large enough to host a party of 15 (could easily cater for more) including little ones, The hotel could not have been more helpful, from the moment I made the booking, they helped with styling (pink as a girl) and offered to make a" baby on the way" cake. On the day, all the guests were treated like royalty, the afternoon tea was amazing, especially the childrens mini version. Everyone was suitably impressed, said the hotel was very classy and elegant. Brilliant location, across the road from Embankment tube. We all took a stroll along the river to walk off the cakes afterwards!. Will certainly return. Couldn't recommend more. The staff are all amazing, even made us a bag of baby shower biscuits to take home . LOVE!!!!!!!

I booked a last minute trip to London to find a wedding gown (don't ask, I work in a developing country which, thankfully, has direct flights to London.) I arrived at 6.00 in the morning and desperately wanted to check in and take a shower. No problem. The front desk made me feel very welcome and gave me a room right away. The staff are outstanding. Friendly, informative, welcoming, attentive. The rooms are large and well furnished. I appreciated that tea and water were constantly replenished so that I never had to dip into the minibar. I ate breakfast at the hotel and it was very good, with a hot buffet and a cold buffet and plenty of items to order a la carte (but included in the breakfast.) The homemade breads are superb! The wi-fi is free and unbelievably fast and consistent (take that Hilton!) I loved the location. Right next to Embankment but a two minute walk to Charing Cross. Tralfagar Square is just up the street. Most rooms have a view of the Thames and the Eye (though mine did not.) It's a nice neighborhood to wander around in. I will definitely stay here again.

Have recently returned home after spending a long weekend in London staying at the Royal Horseguards Hotel we booked a delux river view room (well worth the upgrade price) our view was the london eye and the ever busy Thames. The hotel although being five star had a very welcomeing and non stuffy feel about it and yet every thing was done in a very professional way and we look forward to a return visit.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in February. We are very proud of the hotel and with the rooms especially. We are lucky enough to have those amazing views of the River Thames, especially at night when the London Eye is lit up! As a team we take guest experiences very seriously to ensure all are well looked after, however we choose to achieve these goals in a very fun and enlightened way, a true 5 star service. Please be assured I have passed your comments onto the team; we all hope we are able to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future!

This hotel is fabulously situated near a lot of London's top attractions eg Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, London eye, Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly and Leicester Square etc. housekeeping was excellent. I felt every time we left the room they came in and tidy up, wish it was like that at home!! This hotel is on a quiet street overlooking the Thames. There is a bit of noise, but you have to remember you are in London! I would highly recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at The Royal Horseguards Hotel. Our Housekeeping team are second to none and work extremely hard to ensure that when you return to the hotel, everything has been done for you and you can concentrate on being relaxed! The location of the hotel is truly amazing, as you say; we have some very honourable neighbours. The hotel is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of London, but still close enough to all the action. Thank you for your kind recommendation, we hope we can welcome you back to the hotel in the near future!

We spend the weekend in London in February 2014 and this hotel must be classified as one of the most luxurious that I've ever stayed in. From the greeting at the door upon arrival until we we waited on out taxi to depart home, this hotel lived up to its 5 star billing. My room overlooked the Thames and the London Eye and my only complaint was that I did'nt spend enough time in the room. My room was equipped with every mod con imaginable and you don't need to remember to take a toothbrush or toothpaste as its provided free of charge. With towel changes twice a day this weekend break was a truly first class experience. The bar does not sell draught beers and lacks the pub atmosphere (but this is Westminster), afternoon tea is nice but expensive and be advised that service charges are charged on your bill and shown as an extra. There is a real sense of history about this hotel which is very British and old world and the management should be commended for the modern intergration.
Breakfast was excellent and I cant comment about their evening dinner except to say that the restuarant looked very impressive. The cost of a taxi to Gatwick airport was £140 (thankfully we shared the cost between us) whereas its only £50/£60 to get a cab to Heathrow. The tube system is only 4 minutes walk if you prefer to make your own way.
Overall this was very good experience.

Room Tip: There is NO swimming pool in this hotel and ask for a room with a view overlooking the river.
