Bad mattress, faceless industrial service staff, tiny rooms with no drawer storage and very busy. Do not even think about additional services or you will be charged. Fire akarms at night were a nice touch too. Only good features are the breakfast (very busy) and the location close to the underground (on strike for 2 days).

Stayed here for 1 night. Check in was a nightmare and we had an apology for that. Eventually given a room - with an adjoining door to another room where there were young children. Therefore woken at 7am with their screaming. At 8 am the cleaner hammered on the door to be in - we were checking out at 11! Breakfast was a joke! The queue to get into the dining room was down the corridor and at least 50 people in front. Once in the dining room it was self service - and we were pushed and jostled the whole time. Not what I expected and would not stay here again.

Very close to both Edgware tube stops, which are great stops for getting around. We had a problem with a mattress in a room, so they put is un another room straightaway (though I suspect they never fixed the mattress).

I've stayed here a few times, and early check-in has never been available.

My husband and I stayed for one night here in order to attend a function nearby. I was surprised by the sheer size of the hotel, it felt very much like checking in at an airport. Despite very friendly staff who were obviously doing their best to please it is a very commercial conveyor belt environment. We joined quite a long queue to check in, which though fortunately moved at a reasonably steady pace was not something we welcomed after an early start and train/taxi journey to London. Despite being advised in our invitation that we would be able to check in by 2:00pm we were told that check in was not possible until 3:00, but we could leave our bags.We duly joined the line of guests queuing to leave their bags. This only took a short time, but again something we could have done without. Why couldn't the check in desk have taken our bags?
We decided to return a little before three to check in to try and beat the rush. Wrong! On our return we were faced with the biggest queue so far, which was moving, but slowly. When we eventually reached a check in desk for the second time, the reception was polite and efficient and there was an apology for the delay. This doesn't really help though when you are conscious of the (now limited) time we had to prepare for our event. There would be no time to catch a breath before getting ready to go out again.
The room was spacious, modern, tea and coffee facilities and Tv much as you would expect. A few more tea bags and milk would have been nice (there were four of each, queuing makes one thirsty :) and two cups of tea each, over an afternoon, evening and morning doesn't cut it for me.)
The bed was a huge 6 footer, roomy if not a little firm for my taste but no real complaint.
The bathroom was very small but clean enough as long as you didn't allow your eyes to stray upwards. There was a lack of cleaning at the top of the walls where mould could be seen in the grouting and on the tiles. Certainly wouldn't score full marks as it was also a little tired looking in general.
There was some noise at night from the lifts but nothing more than you expect.
And so to breakfast. We ambled down at about nine o clock and approached the restaurant to find.......a queue! This was not just any queue, this was a monster. Guests were queuing quite a way down the adjacent corridor and a member of hotel staff was conducting operations at the front. The queue was moving slowly as people left the restaurant others were allowed in we were debating our options ( breakfast elsewhere? come back later?) when a free table for two was announced. It appeared that everyone ahead of us required tables for more so we were able to jump the queue from a quarter way down.
The whole thing had the feel of school dinners and was not something I appreciated.
Luckily we were shown to a quieter area in the sports bar, the main restaurant was extremely busy and noisy.Self service as expected but I had to ask cereal bowl as there was no crockery left on the serving bar. After a short wait there was no sign of the waiter returning so I gave up
and went to the other end of the room were supplies were better. There was plenty of food, full english, porridge, danish pastries, croissants all the usual hotel fare. Coffee pot, hot water pot and tea bags served to your table.
When we left after breakfast the queue was slightly smaller.
Regrettably we had no time to use the spa so no comment there.
The hotel is in quite a good location being not too far from Marble Arch (walking distance) and adjacent to Paddington basin (which will be nice when its finished). The Wallace Collection is a little treasure not to be missed whilst you are in the area and boasts a very pleasant restaurant in a covered courtyard should you wish to avoid the hustle and bustle (and queues).
It was half term when we stayed and there was a distinct impression that the hotel staff (through no fault of their own) were struggling to cope but if you build such a huge hotel shouldn't you be equipped to deal with a correspondingly huge number of guests?

I stay in quite a lot of hotels with my job around the country including london, however i booked the Hilton london metropole for a leisure stay over the easter break for two nights. Before i go into the review, After the booking was made online (which was pretty painless) i received 4 (yes 4) emails in the space of 10 days asking me to upgrade to a deluxe room for a "special" rate £50 per night. I did not take advantage of this offer.

Upon arrival The world Irish Dancing competition was being held in the hotels function suites and the place was very busy, with the lobby and bars overcrowded and there seems to be no planning or organisation from the hotel. We waited 25 minutes to check in due to a "computer" error. When we finally got to our room on the 5th floor, one of the keycards did not work. The room was cramped and tired. It had not been cleaned and items from the previous occupants was still present. The surfaces had not seen a cloth in a while and the bathroom was covered in limescale and mould. I called reception and complained of which i was "upgraded" to the deluxe room (the one I was sent emails about to upgrade for an additional cost) after we had relocated to the 15th Floor to our "deluxe room" (which was identical to the previous room in size facilities decor etc) This room was marginally better although still was not cleaned to the standard you would expect from hilton (I've stayed in cleaner travelodges....) The drinks from the bar are overpriced (£19 for a beer and a brandy and mixer) My advice go across the road to the green man as they have decent beer on for reasonable money!

On our last morning, we were greeted by the cleaner who let himself in at 8:20am wanting to know when we would be going out so he can clean our room. needless to say I asked him to leave and duly complained. The hotel offered me a partial refund and an apology which i have still yet to receive on my credit card.

I would suggest that you look elsewhere if planning a trip to london. this is not worth the £150 a night price tag.......

We stayed for two nights with our five year old grandchildren and were pleasantly surprised, after reading some of the negative reviews.

We arrived by train into Marylebone (so much calmer than Euston with children plus luggage) and this hotel is just one tube stop from Marylebone. Hotel is right next to tube. Checked in without delay at 1pm to a superior family room on 12th floor of West Wing. All excellent - room spacious with two double beds, desk and table/chairs. Very clean - lots of toiletries and numerous fluffy towels. West Wing also seemed quieter.

Staff were friendly and efficient - especially nice to children. The first morning there was a slight queue for breakfast but glasses of orange juice were brought to us while we waited. Once seated, service and breakfast were good. Kids menu in the evening was good value but, as someone has said, drinks in the bar are (as usual) expensive.

Swimming pool was made good use of by grandchildren - big
plus!

Would definitely stay again.
