First impression of hotel was ok but the room (and bathroom) were pretty poor. Very much in need of a complete refurbishment! Furnishings are old, tatty and drab!

The breakfast was also poor, with little choice!

Reception was friendly and welcoming. I was allocated the suite which was quaint, and comprised two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen. The kitchen area had all the original cupboards and serving hatch from what looked like the 1930's.

The main bedroom was large with a very high ceiling and original features. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. The main bathroom was a separate room accessed across the corridor. The second bedroom had twin beds and a separate private toilet and bathroom which was a bit dark and uninviting. Not sure why there were two bathrooms, but I guess the layout of the original apartment has been retained.

Buffet breakfast was included in the £99 price, but there are plenty of cafes offering full english breakfast nearby on Goodge Street. Oxford Circus and Regent Street are only a short walk away, and there are plenty of restaurants on Charlotte Street or in Soho which is about 5 minutes walk

Book in the evening as the prices seem to drop significantly.

We paid $262 for a one night stay at the Astor Court, arriving late and leaving early. Our room was very small with two twin beds in an alcove, one table, one chair. No outlet near the bed. The hot water pressure was very, very poor. I got a shower with a trickle as I took it at 6 am. My husband did not find enough pressure to take a shower by 6:30 am. The breakfast was included starting at 7 am. It included cereal, yogurt, toast, coffee, juices, but no eggs or sausage. I asked for and received two extra pillows upon check in. We had a street side room on the 5th fl which was noisy.

Very well located hotel. Near to Regenstreett en Oxfordstreet. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and even for London relatively spacious.
Breakfast a bit chaotic due to the use of two sepperate rooms. Breakfast choice is good.

In the rooms on the lower floors the under the hotel passing Underground line could be heard.

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room on the higher floors.

I made a booking with the Astor Court for February, but needed to change it to 2 nights. Unfortunately, they didn't have 2 nights available, so I called to cancel, so I could book elsewhere. Like most people, I assumed the cancellation was straightforward, and I didn't take the name of the person I spoke to. When my credit card statement came through in March, I found I'd been charged for the room. I called the hotel, and was asked to put it in an email, which I did (on March 17th). After chasing several times, I have today (MAY 7th - over 7 weeks after my initial complaint!) been emailed by the Astor to say that as I have no proof of my cancellation they are treating it as a no-show, and not willing to refund my charge. Good customer service is evidently not a priority for the Astor. As a very frequent visitor to London, I will be avoiding this hotel like the plague in future.

Stayed here for a theatre trip and was just perfect for purpose. Stayed in a triple room as we took our teenage daughter, very quiet (aside from the slight tube rumble) extremely clean, and lovely comfy beds. Floor a little squeaky and could do with a bathroom refit but being so clean it wasn't a problem. Breakfast adequate and staff very helpful. They allowed us to check in early as we were going to a matinee performance and wanted to drop off bags. View looks out to the back of bbc broadcasting house, Harley st parking a minutes walk and a lovely italian, Sergios a couple of minutes walk away. Sat tv and free wifi. Not the most luxurious but location makes up for that tenfold considering the price. Would def stay again.

Room Tip: Call ahead and ask for high floor ( there is a lift) as apparently they are quieter

This hotel is on the same street as the house where Ian Fleming (the creator of James Bond) used to live in. If you walk along this street going to Victoria Station, it will be on the left side. It has two pillars on the façade, so watch out for that. :)

The hotel on the other hand is not so bad if you are just staying there for a night or two. the room got was on the ground floor, it was small, as in small. I should have paid 10 pounds more to get the double room which would be on the upper floors and if you're luck will get a view of the street. My room's view, well, the wall of the other flat and glimpses of the window frame of another room. The room was cozy though, heater was not so good, that's why there is a portable one available which you need to drag into the toilet, if you want that place to be warm. There was breakfast, nothing extra-ordinary, just eat a lot if you want to be full else, you can go out to get a decent breakfast. Overall, i'd say 3 stars is ok or this hotel :)
