one of the world hotel experiences I've ever had. I'm a regular user of travelodge, generally in Birmingham, and find them very good. This place is the pits. Soituated on a busiy street in London, there's no double glazing. I didn't realise how bad the noise was until I tried to sleep at 11.30am. I needed tissue stuffed in my ears and a pillow over my head to fall asleep it was so loud. At 4am I was awoken by the traffic! And it hasn't been rennovated in years. They then booked me a taxi and took a £2 commission. Will never go back.

Room Tip: If they have rooms off the road take it.

We found ourselves having to stay in London unexpectedly. As we rode along on the train wondering where we would stay, I saw the Travelodge sign from the train at Vauxhaul. Sadly, the hotel was fully booked for the night but the man on the desk could not have been more helpful. He offered us a cold glass of water as it was hot and got the central booking department on the phone for us. We found a vacancy in the Farringdon Road hotel. It is very close to the Kingscross hotel. The staff at the Farringdon Road hotel were welcoming and friendly and very helpful. It is walking distance from a great choice of restaurants in Exmouth Market. This is an excellent budget chain of hotels and are based near all the major stations in London and more.

Room Tip: Try and get a room away from the main road

Fantastic staff, comfortable bed. There is no air conditioning. The kitchen has serious timing problems. Our meals were not served together. Do not pre-book meal deal. Wheatherspoon's at the Angel pub is better.

The bed is clean and comfortable. The toilette is clean but the water pressure is too low. There is no air-conditioning which makes the room a bit hot. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from King's Cross station. But you can consider to take bus No. 63 if you have heavy luggage which takes you from King's Cross to the bus stop in front of the hotel.

Yes location is great - within walking distance to Kings Cross and Angel however this hotel is desperately in need of a complete refit and modernisation programme and is not up to the standard you would usually expect from a travel lodge.

Five nights in July in sweltering heat and no air conditioning. The room was adequate in size although the bathroom was a bit small, really only room for one person at a time. The big problem was the lack of air conditioning and the window was restricted to open only an inch or so. Even when it cooled a little outside the room remained sweltering often exceeding 30C. The hotel did supply a fan and a second on request but it was almost impossible to sleep. We were on the back of the building which was quieter than the front but got early morning sunshine so the room never cooled.
Breakfast was plentiful and adequate. We found all the staff to be extremely helpful but did hear a number of other guests complaining about shortages of towels etc. We did return one evening in a hurry as we were a bit behind schedule to find only one bath towel and I was told that it was hotel poicy to put one set of towels in rooms as many were single occupancy although this was 3 days in and we had two towels every other day. As otheres report if you arrive before 3pm and want access to your room you will be charged £10 and check out at 11am is a bit earlier than siome.
Overall we would not stay again in high summer, but it is reasonably priced for the location, the staff are good and breakfast adequate. The bed was also comfortable if only the room was cooler.

Room Tip: The back and higher up is quieter but in summer all rooms are veery hot.
