“A lovely weekend made even better!”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

A lovely weekend made even better:

The receptionists were extremely helpful and friendly.
Our room had a kitchenette that was clean but the cupboards were a little battered.
Beds were comfortable.
Bathroom clean and came with complimentary toiletries.
Hotel situated near the Thames and the Shard so ideal for us.
First weekend in London and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left everyone was extremely friendly.
Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: You need to put your key card in car reader in the lift to go above level G.

I struggled with a rating, because I wanted this place to be so much more than what is was. The staff was competent but not welcoming. The service was acceptable, but could easily have been better, with just the slightest efforts. Some early mis-steps at check-in were not handled very well.

Pros: The hotel is in a good and safe location. There is complimentary purified water and coffee/tea available 24/7. Charging stations abound. The lobby area is nice for lounging outside of the rooms, which are small.

Cons: Knowing that London is an expensive city, I still found the price point to be high for the very small, bare-bones room. The sheets seemed to be clean, but had some stains.

Bottom line: For the right price, I would stay there again. For the price paid, I would not.

Stayed in this hotel for a couples weekend we parked car in a local ncp about 5 mins walk away. The hotel is ideally situated close to the monument south bank and plenty of other hot spots for sight seeing. Staff friendly free tea and coffee in lobby. Overall a lovely hotel in central London - close enough to sights and sounds but quiet enough to relax after the outings.

For us insurance folks this hotel is ideal: Competitive rates, top location, swift check-in and -out. The rooms are relatively basic; still there are some essential toileteries and a tea-kettle ready to use. The fresh fruit which is available 24/7 in the lobby just shows these people understand what really counts.

Room Tip: I believe that 5th floor rooms have been refurbished recently.

Just checked out this morning after 2 nights- arrived a bit early on Saturday, 0930hrs to be exact as we had an early flight from Shannon, check in now? Not a problem, swipe your card & enter PIN, job done! This was a good start as we could now relax knowing we didn't have to hang around waiting to check in.

A good sized double room awaited, with (for gadget people) iPod Dock & docking station for PC- handy for using USB charger for phones.

Overall this hotel didn't seem to be able to say no & had an answer for most of the questions you will ask as a visitor to this great city.

Add to that 10 mins walk to Liverpool Street station & 10 mins walk from some of London's famous landmarks & you get great value for your pound.

I really liked this hotel. The wifi was strong and free. Good access to my business VPN. Comfortable beds. Plenty of space, nice staff. I agree with some who say it is somewhat sterile, but sterile, clean and comfortable and affordable is a good thing for me. I was amazed the City shuts down on the weekend, but great access to London Tower and some amazing new architecture, the Thames walk, and quick walk to metro where you can get anywhere. I would definitely come back.
