“A great hotel & a great price in London!!”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

I'm so glad I found this hotel, as I was getting frustrated trying to find a reasonably priced hotel in London in a good location. I've never stayed in this area before as we normally stay around Kensington. Well this turned out to be a great choice, as the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was cozy, with a good sized bathroom also coffee and tea making facilities in the room and lobby. On each floor there's a closet with an iron, ironing board, pillows etc, also a purified water machine with bottles, so handy. The lobby was also cozy with a sitting area with tv and computers. Anytime we contacted the front desk, every staff member had an answer to our enquiry. The location is great as there are plenty of restaurants and a few shops around. Next door is Crosse Keys Restaurant for affordable meals. Ths area is similar to Wall Street in NYC, so on the weekends some of the restaurants were closed, but it's close to Bank and Monument Tubes, so handy if you're arriving from Heathrow. Also within walking distance to The Monument, Tower of London & Tower Bridge. All in all we highly recommend this hotel & we will stay here in the future.

PRO:
- excellent location in the City, close to 2 underground stations (Bank, Monument).
- free Wi-Fi, water, tea, coffee
- quite clean
- excellent reception staff - Mrs. Beata was very helpfull.

CONS:
- Poor breakfast, operated by externat restaurant Gaucho. The choice almost does not exist, very few things to eat, no vegitables at all, and very, very expensive (15 GBP+VAT for breakfast, which would cost you 4.99 in the pub (Crossie Keys) just over the wall.). I spent few days in the hotel and could observe how people were confused, when had to pick something to eat for a terrible price or to pay 11.99+VAT GBP - just for "continental breakfast" which are basically croissanint, yogurt, coffee... Beakfast HIGHLY NOT RECCOMENDED.
- The hotel facilities are old (looks very "weary") - probably 30 years or more.

Room Tip: You need to ask in the reception for a plug converter (3 bolts/2 bolts) for EU/world countires, sinc...

Just a block from the tube and three blocks from the Liverpool Street train station, walking distance to London Bridge water taxi and London Tower. On a Friday night it can get pretty rowdy in the vicinity as the financial folks party up a storm in the local taverns. But not to worry, the hotel is secure and most of the rooms are quiet enough. The restaurant next door connected by secure doorway serves a nice breakfast and the Argentinian restaurant on the lower floor seems good but we didn't eat there. The lobby is inviting and a good space in which to congregate. Computers set up for guests in the lobby with free wifi, an office set up downstairs, and a gym complete the picture. Very comfortable overall and same basic set-up as other Club Quarters.

Turned up to the hotel a hour early than check in, wasn't a problem for the staff who were very polite and helpful, told us where our room was and how to use the key and elevator, etc. They offered us to upgrade for around £20, which we accepted and the room we had was huge! Spotless with complimentary wine, tea, coffee, ironing board and iron, extra towels and pillows although i dont see why anyone would need them! The bed was massive, bigger than a kingsize and so comfortable. We were on the first floor at the front of the hotel but there was no noise at night despite there being nightclubs just around the corner. Whilst getting ready to go out (Phantom of the Opera at her Majesty's Theatre is a must by the way), we were able to connect our phones wirelessly to the speakers in the room to play our own music quitely, which was nice. We couldnt hear any noise from any other guests, which was nice too. Overall, an excellent hotel and we shall be returning next time we visit London!

stayed at this hotel 12th April with 3 friends, we had 2 rooms. We are visiting London for my friends birthday, we were advised by reception staff to park in the NCP car park. I went to collect my car from the car park at 2:00pm today, only to realise the road is closed due to the London marathon and will not be open again until 7pm earliest. NO ONE TOLD ME THIS. Infact! The reception staff TOLD me to park there! I have called up the hotel as I am currently having to sit waiting on a bench for 5 hours for the road to reopen, I have called the hotel and they could do nothing to help me. No apology. No compensation. No hotel room for a few hours to rest in. NOTHING. Just rude rude rude. Customer service stinks, they do not care about you at all, just take your money. Couldn't careless I have to sit around outside for god knows how many hours, and they quite frankly couldn't care less. Would never recommend, and I will be complaining to the manager for a refund on all expenses.

This hotel is a couple blocks from my office in London so a very convenient option for me on work trips. They offer some nice amenities (gym, free water bottles on every floor, snacks/coffee in the lobby). The rooms are nice, spacious, and clean, and the beds are comfortable. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful.

The location is a bit quiet if you're in London for sightseeing and fun. Being in the city, not much is open late or on weekends.

We were booked into dinner at Sushi Samba, so the location is fab for that. However, the room was unbearably hot (artificially) when we got in. The aircon cooled it down quickly but we had a poor nights sleep. The heating/aircon system in the room was very noisy and the pillows were very uncomfortable. I woke with a sore neck and having had little sleep. The other problem is that there is no plug socket by any mirrors making it impossible to blow dry/straighten hair without doing it blindly. Would not recommend despite the cheap price.
