This is a good quality large scale hotel catering for both tourist and business clients.

The rooms are quite large for London and most have great views either looking over the Thames and Tower Bridge or St. Katherine's Dock.

I would describe it as a good standard 4* hotel, which because it is so large everything is a bit bland and faceless.

As is common in London breakfast is an added extra for most customers and at a ridiculous price. We didn't avail ourselves of their offering.

Location is pretty good for tourists being just by the Tower of London. The tube and buses are a five minute walk. It's also not bad for business people as it is near the City, rather than the West End.

We got free WiFi, which in a hotel of this sort is very commendable.

The best thing about the hotel is that it is available at very goof rates through LastMinute's Secret Rooms. We got a room for £100 per night, which for this quality of hotel in the heart of London is excellent. At £100 I would give the hotel a full 5*s, but given that most will be paying alot more I think 4* is more the experience most people will have.

Room Tip: Most rooms at the front will have a great view of the River Thames and Tower Bridge. The back rooms...

we stopped here for 2 nights, end of July 2014.

the hotel was clean, for the money we had an executive room and that came with free mini bar, access to the executive suite which had free drinks and light snacks.

The staff were friendly, helpful beyond our expectations and always served with a smile.

Located right next to the tower of London and Tower Bridge you are in walking distance of most of the main attractions. we walked to Westminster via the tower of London, St Pauls, over the millennium bridge to the Globe Theatre, past the Tate gallery, under Blackfriars, down the Southbank to Westminster and the London eye in 45 minutes.

would I recommend this hotel... yes, absolutely

Room Tip: a high room is a must, river view or tower view are a must

Got this as a last minute deal. The staff behind the front desk were great, Akram was very helpful indeed. The breakfast was adequate but not amazing - I did feel unhappy at paying full price (£12) for my 10 year old son. In most hotels children eat breakfast for free or at a reduced rate so this was the only thing I took issue with. Location is fab for the east end and The City though. The higher up you go the better the views. We had room 643 which had a superb view of Tower Bridge.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back overlook St Katherine's dock and are quieter. Rooms at the front overlook the...

On a flying visit to London for business meetings, my assistant had found a very good deal on two rooms at the Tower Hotel, St Katherine Way, London. The hotel is situated adjacent to the River Thames, in the shadow of Tower Bridge. If you need to be close to the Tower of London with all the other attractions nearby, this is the place for you. The hotel has been around for many years (built in 1973) and although I'm sure since then its been refurnished several times, it is now in need of some love and care, especially in the furnishings department. But the restaurants are good value and the staff very helpful. Ask for a room overlooking the river as the view is quite impressive. The rooms are small, but not unusual for a hotel in a large city like London. What I like about this hotel is that it is in St Katherines Dock. If you stay at the Tower Hotel, you should visit St Katherines which you can find at the rear of the hotel. The old dock area dates back to the 12th century. Over the years, sailing ships would pull into the dock and unload their various cargo from around the world. The warehouses that probably stored the cargo are now beautiful lofts offering upscale accommodations. There are many great shops, restaurants, and a nice walk around a now beautifully redeveloped area. The Tower Hotel is worth staying in.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river.

Dear reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to post about your stay at The Tower. It is always a pleasure to hear positive comments about our services and helpful team.
I totally agree with you about St Katharine Docks, it is a hidden gem. You may also be interested in knowing the Totally Thames festival is coming in September and there will be lots of interesting events going on at the Docks. Thanks again, we hope you can stay longer with us next time.

I stayed for a night only.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Tower bridge exhibition was basically the hotel's neighbour. As well as a Starbucks and a Tesco Express. They had a space for some caravans to sell burgers, crêpes, etc in front of the hotel, just underneath the Tower Bridge exhibition. Those caravans of course were excellent for nice sunny days.

Hall ways were not bad, it looked that it was just upgraded/refurbished. Lobby was nice too although it was pretty much outdated.

Staff at the lobby were friendly and helpful.

View from our room was beautiful.

I found that the toilet was difficult to be flushed. Also, the shower system was not obvious, it wasn't a standard model.

It might be that the carpet was dusty.

AC seemed to be ok although its control unit was not obvious. Iron board was ridiculously small, my partner said that it was uncomfortable, I did not use the iron board.

Overall, it was ok.

Found this gem after looking for a last minute hotel. I upgraded on arrival to a river view executive room. Well worth the extra money and would highly recommend as you get free drinks and free breakfast in the club lounge. Right in the heart of where we wanted to visit so perfect location. The added bonus of the bar with deckchairs and pimms was lovely!

All the staff were so helpful - especially Kamal on the reception.

Will definitely be stopping here again!

Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for your post,
It’s great to read your feedback having upgraded to one of Executive rooms. Last month we launched The Lawn which overlooks the Thames and Tower Bridge and is the perfect spot for Pimm’s so I’m really pleased you enjoyed this too. It’s always a pleasure to hear how helpful the team are and I’ve shared your comments with Kamal who was delighted!
I hope you’ll visit us at the Tower Hotel again soon.
Kind regards
Billy
