I really cannot fault this hotel. My room was on the sixth floor and faced the Strand. The room was a good size and included two tub chairs, a desk and a large tv. It was all super clean and the bed was comfortable. There was no air con, but I knew this before booking and a fan is provided, so I didn't find this a problem. The staff were very helpful, my bag was stored at no extra cost before check in and upon checking out, the friendly and helpful staff offered to sort out my luggage or a taxi. Overall I had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

We would be happy to return to this hotel. Our room did not have an air conditioner. If you stay here in the middle of summer then I would recommend that you pay extra for an air conditioned room. The room was of reasonable size and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of selections. There was a safe in the room. The location was good-5 minutes walk to Piccadilly Circus and Charing Cross Station. Staff were good.

The location is brilliant. The rooms are adequate for the the price and location. The rooms also include extras such as shampoo etc. I'm amazed that people ae complaining about the hotel; location and price wise it's great value. For those who want the better quality, the Ritz is just across the road. ;)

I stayed a week at the strand Palace on a solo leisure trip in June.
i had previously stayed at the hotel about 10 years ago and noticed mant improvements. Most of the hotel has been renovated recently. The high points are the location near Trafalgar and covent Garden and the many bus routes with stops close to the hotel. breakfast is excellent. The low points are the hot rooms in warm weather with windows that open about 6 inches. They do provide a fan but on days above 70 degrees, it's HOT. The other negative is the front desk staff. Most are obnoxious and will try to charge you every pound possible so carefully check your bill.

Room Tip: suggest you request a room on lower floor away from those facing street. They will be cooler and le...

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of June for four days. We had a Club King room, facing an inside courtyard and no air conditioning. Because of the time of the year this was not a problem, but I would definitely not choose a room without a.c. later in the season. The room size, while not large, was perfectly adequate, had been recently renovated and did not feel cramped. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom had large, fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. The wifi connection was excellent and the entire hotel is non-smoking. The concierge service sells travel cards for the Tube and buses as well as booking tours, theater tickets etc. As other reviewers have mentioned the location is fantastic. There's a Boots Pharmacy and a 24 hour Tesco right across the street as well as various restaurants and fast food options. Turn left out the front door and then the next left onto Burleigh Street for a Barclay's ATM- less than a two minute walk. Covent Garden is right behind the hotel and there are many theaters within very easy walking distance from the hotel. We would not hesitate to book this hotel for our next London stay.

I returned to the Strand Palace this week for a short stay. As usual everything was superb from the moment of checking in to my departure. The staff are very efficient and pleasant and so very helpful. The single rooms are quite small but very cosy and comfortable. I cannot fault this hotel and the location is wonderful. Anywhere you wish to go by public transport is available outside the hotel door or alternatively across the road. It is the Strand Palace for me every time.

Room Tip: Pick a quiet room on the south side.

Quintessence of a turisty place. Busy, no frills (like airconditioning), they make you pay in advance but OK for its price (and for being in London), with a central location between Strand and Aldwych. A good budget alternative.

Room Tip: Inside rooms are quieter
