“Good hotel, good location”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

A very nice, very well priced London hotel which is ideally situated for Oxford Street shops and many attractions. Restaurant is nice but a little cramped at breakfast-time.
Staff are most pleasant, welcoming & helpful.
Room size is typical of a not-overpriced London hotel with tea/coffee making facilities. Wife would have liked a bath rather than a just shower but I always prefer a shower!
Great to be able to pop next door to the Dominion theatre to see We Will Rock You (superb!) - now sadly come to the end of its run.

Decided to have single room ,big mistake as unable to have case open anywhere except the bed . The room is too small to swing a cat as the saying goes . Next time even if by myself will book a twin room .Bathroom is also tiny .
Apart from the size everything else was good ,- close to the west end ,room clean ( although housekeeping couldn't decide how many towels to leave each day).
Breakfast the same each day . Staff helpful

Room Tip: Spend the money on a twin share as the single unbelievably tiny

I stayed at st Giles on a Saturday night. We stayed in a twin room will was small but fine for one night. This is a reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location. No need to use the tube to visit Covent garden, Soho or theatreland.

The provision of staff is remarkable, especially for those not fluent in the English language to one hundred percent support provided by the Spanish speaking staff is very helpful.
The comfortable bedrooms. I traveled with my mother and we were well looked after.
Located near the metro station and main avenues to get where you want.
Very close to Oxford Circus where you can find tinedas departmental and other services such as pharmacies, eateries and bars.

We had a twin room. It was very nosy during the day and rooms were basic. It was in walking distance from the underground station of Tottenham court road. A good variety of shops and restaurants around.

Room Tip: Maybe go for a room towards the back of the hotel not the front and higher up.

After reading some of the previous reviews was expecting a room fit for a Barbie doll! How wrong they were, was very happy with our room which was adequate for our needs. Although the bathroom was small, it was clean and modern, hot water always available with sachets of shampoo and shower gel and towels changed daily if required. Only negative was bathroom extractor fan did not seem to work so got rather steamy. Our room was on the fifth floor and at back of hotel so was quiet and had good night's sleep, the shower occasionally made a gurgling noise, but closing the bathroom door soon blotted the noise out! We did not need to use the fan which was supplied as weather was mild, window only opened a small amount due to safety. There was a safe free of charge in the room. Wifi was not free in the hotel which is usually free everywhere nowadays. Breakfast was good, only had to queue on our last morning for about five minutes. Four lifts in the hotel which could get congested at peak times. Reception staff very friendly as were the concierge staff. Hotel near the British museum and University of London. Oxford Street just around the corner, and within walking distance (Buckingham Palace 30 mins) of all the main attractions. Did not use the leisure facilities or eat in the hotel other than at breakfast, so can't comment on these. Booked this hotel for a theatre break and would not hesitate to use St Giles again on my next trip to London.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors probably quieter.

Lovely hotel, spent one night to go to theater, Arrived early but were allowed into room which was really useful to leave luggage. Nice room, small but clean.( Didn't take room apart to look for dust!) Staff were very helpful and happy. Breakfast was self service but of good quality and plentiful. Only downside was room on first floor so with window open was a bit noisy. Would be happy to stay again. Very convenient for sightseeing.

Room Tip: Higher floor to avoid street noise,
