I had exceptional service during my 5 night stay at The Gore. My room No.106 was beautiful and I enjoyed looking out onto Queen's Gate from the window. It is a perfect location close to Hyde Park, The V & A Museum etc.
I liked the sitting room for the guests - it is a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy a coffee or tea, and biscuits. Loved the bed linen!

The Gore is a gem of an hotel right in the midst of Kensington with the Royal Albert Hall steps away and the wonderful Kensington Gardens and Palace across the road. The staff were ALL excellent both welcoming, relaxed and efficient. The food in the bistro was delicious and reasonably priced for the capital. Our Queen room was pretty with a very comfortable bed, spotless shower room and a balcony onto Queens Gate. All in all, a really memorable stay. Thanks to all. Slightly cheaper drinks would be welcome!

Staff friendly on arrival, no facilities in the room to make a drink when you want, restaurant prices were high for the food, no breakfast included. Overall I thought it was expensive for what was received and I was disappointed, having stayed in some very nice hotels in London. I will not be staying here again.

We booked here as we were going to the Royal Albert Hall for an evening show and the website said the hotel was recommended.... To be honest the hotel is in a perfect position for the hall and only took 2 mins to walk there. Upon arrival the outside looked very nice, we checked in but the room wasn't quite ready, so we went in the bar for a drink and nibbles... The tapas was ok, lamb skewers were lovely but I think the drinks are overpriced..we were advised the room was ready and also advised we had been upgraded, we thought that was very good and went to the room, the room was tiny, needed updating and the sofa was dated and worn.. The whole bedroom just looked dated... The bathroom however was very nice. We left our bags and went for a walk etc.. Got back and got ready for the evening, went back to the bar for some drinks, I did have a glass of champagne which again I thought expensive, I don't mind paying but even I thought this more than London prices... We went to the hall and enjoyed our evening, upon leaving the hall we decided upon a nightcap in the bar, when we arrived we got told the bar was not open as there was going to be a private party and we could have room service... 1. There was no one in the bar at that time and 2. We don't pay over £200 to sit in our room to drink!!... So we declined and went to our room, bearing in mind this was about 11pm... We just got settled into bed then the noise started, we could hear the party going on, music etc which want on to 5 in the morning....
So few things that annoyed us was that we were not advised the bar was going to be closed later and that the hotel didn't seem to care about their residents well being, 1 not allowed in the bar and 2, the time the noise went onto.. I've not known a hotel not advise a private party that they need to finish by a certain time, needless to say we got no sleep, upon mentioning this when checking out nothing was said and no apology, just that yeah they were noisy and could party!!!! I think the hotel need to realise they are a hotel with a bar not a bar with some rooms attached!!! Will not recommend and won't be back unfortunately

Stayed here a year or so back, great experience, was wowed then by what is one of London's finest bars. We had both pre Albert Hall drinks and a late meal after the show, first rate service, drinks and food both. Returned recently for just drinks and was not disappointed, very attentive bar staff, special place, lovely atmosphere. Recommended.

Second time staying at this hotel, we were pleased to find that the quality and service were as good as previously. Very traditional feeling rooms (not even a mixer tap), and perfect if looking for this kind of an authentic experience. For us, the location is what makes us revisit again and again as the leisurely stroll to the Albert Hall is only 1 minute!
