A friendly and professional team at this well appointed hotel.
Well situated for access to some of London's key attractions and good access to London tube stations and bus services. Bistro bar is ideal for relaxing after a day out and about. Restaurant is good value. Decorated in a traditional style and with taste.

My partner and I chose the gore hotel for our pre-theatre dinner and drinks due to its convenient location to the royal Albert hall.
The bar had a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The cocktails were well made, however, only downside is they were a little pricey and what I call "London prices". This is the case for all nice bars in the area though and is not a criticism.
Dinner itself was enjoyable, the food was fantastically presented and tasted lovely. I feel the food, despite the price, was nothing special. The restaurant was nearly empty and this unfortunately impacted on the atmosphere of the restaurant. However staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my evening here and cannot comment on the rooms. I would choose not to return but mainly because I would be intrigued to try somewhere different.

Convenient location good sized rooms (rare in London). The staff to a fault were very helpful and courteous. Only issue for me was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which is good when you need to work for some hours and need this at your elbow. The hotel is old and plays on the fact it has maintained the qualities of an older hotel whilst possessing modern facilities.

Room Tip: Go for a bigger room - they are not much more expensive.

Lovely, well located hotel, excellent facilities and welcoming staff. The lounge was snug and comfortable, with tea and coffee. Pancakes and maple syrup for breakfast -- yum! Delicious but expensive. It's said you can judge a good hotel by the quality of its pillows, and these were particularly good. Although, for some reason there was no clock of any sort in the room. It was a most enjoyable weekend, and we would definitely stay there again.

Can not fault everything about the service shown by the staff and the quality of the room however there are 3 things that have driven me to other (I am in London every other weekend at the moment) hotels.

1. No complimentary WiFi - in this day and age, considering this is normal in Europe, it's ridiculous. They didn't even have a BT hotspot to use.

2. Inadequate storage space for clothes, such as underwear and socks.

3. Absence of a simple kettle to make a quick cup of tea in the morning.

If none of those bother you, it's a great hotel, beautifully decorated and suitably positioned for so many things in SW London.

Best location for pre-dinner and after dinner Proms eating and drinking. We have eaten and sometimes stayed here for the last 5 years. Bar is well run and does great cocktails! Will be staying again next year!
