“good for a short trip to london”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

we only stayed one night and for that it was absolutely perfect. the only thing that we didnt like was the unfriendly staff at reception. they werent really pleased to have, not only us but other customer around. the rooms we're clean and for london quiet big. the hotel is located near the underground and it doesnt take long to get into the heart of the city. the breakfast-buffet was very good.

Have visited this hotel on several occasions, it sort of does what it says on the tin. I always find queues at reception, and despite being a Platinum Card holder, you just need to "get in line!" The rooms are ok but nothing special if I'm honest. The upside for the hotel is proximity to Gloucester Road Underground and therefore easy access to Central London.

Stayed here for a saturday night in London. We booked through a Priceline express deal, but it was very good value for what we paid. The room was big enough and very clean. Very close to the tube and walking distance to many sites! Only downside was the wifi was not free. Overall, I would recommend!

Well, what do you expoect from a budget chain - more rthan this, I would say, the staff were nice, but that was the only noticably good thing about this place, would not go back and would not recommend to a friend

Location very good, close to museums, restaurants, tube station. Front desk, room service, bell boy, maid very professional and pleasant staff, rooms are rather small but that is normal of Holiday Inn, breakfast is very good. If price is right this is a good choice for London.

This hotel is perfectly placed for a weekend trip to London. Close to the museums / Kensington Palace / Albert Hall etc. it's a short walk to Harrods from there as well.
Gloucester Road tube station is just round the corner.
There are also enough decent restaurants / cafés / pubs in the area to enjoy.
Staff are friendly and efficient.
Slept very well - air conditioning was good and quiet (not always a thing you get). Nice touch was that you could select your pillow hardness.
The breakfast was good - could have been a bit more regular in checking if you want more coffee.
The 'pub' on site is good - ideal if you want to catch up with the World Cup over the next few weeks as they have a good selection of screens.
Not a hotel to have a memorable weekend break in but for a clean tidy stop off you could not do better. I would stay again.

We stayed here after a cruise for 2 nights waiting for our tour to Scotland to start. The tour hotel was 100 pounds more a night, and the Holiday Inn had a better location. We were not disappointed. Lots of reasonably priced places to eat. I thought I was making a mistake not paying ahead for the buffet breakfast, but there were plenty of restaurants at half the price. There were also 2 supermarkets, so we were able to get water, fruit, muffins and other food.

The hotel was a few blocks from the museums (Victoria and Albert, Museum of Natural History and Science Museum) and we visited all of them. The hotel is also a short walk away from a tube station.

On both the first and check out day we left our luggage with the bellman and we had no problem with the security.

We found the hotel to be clean and the room to be more than adequate. On the third night we moved to the more expensive hotel provided as the first night of the tour. The room in the new more expensive hotel was smaller and it was also in Kensington but not convenient to anything.
