We had a terrible time in such an old hotel. The elevator had a tendency to get stuck and the staff was not friendly at all. Once we found a wet and dirty bath towel between the bed sheets. It was appalling! The room for two people was tiny!!!

Dear Leyla,

Thank you for your review,

We are sorry for your bad experience you had with us. Usually the lift can only hold maximum 3 people with luggage so we suggest to make sure it is not overcrowded before entering the lift. We are extremely sorry that you found a wet bath towel between your bed as these things never tend to happen and it is a genuine mistake which we sincerely apologise.

Once again we thank you for your review and this is very much valued.

Warm Regards,
Guest Relations Manager

We stayed for two nights and the first night was terrible, because of the really loud elevator (our room was just next to the elevator). So the next morning we asked a different room which they offered... The second room was significantly smaller and the entrance was from the staircase hall which meant that there was still lots of noise (they took note about the loud elevator and closed it for the night, so all traffic to upper floors went through the staircase hall). Since the hotel went through renovations, maybe they also took care of the loud elevator :)
Otherwise the breakfast was alright and the location was good (a walk away from Victoria Station).

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the elevator and staircase.

This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that does not provide complementary shampoo. Only had a dispenser of ? Shower gel and soap. There was also no coffee in our room. The room itself was only the equivalent standard of a travelodge, tho smaller. And it was very very hot. We were in the basement so were bothered by the noise of the lift during the night and the clatter of crockery in the morning. Breakfast was a bun fight. Few vacant tables and a queue and not enough croissants to go round, so it was cereal and toast. All very feeble considering the price. The coffee was nice and the staff were friendly and doing their best.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your review,

I am sorry to hear you never enjoyed your time here and I just want to mention a few things to make it more enjoyable for your next visit. We do have shampoo in all rooms and if you never see any you could always request at the reception desk and the same goes with coffee as we have tea/coffee making facilities in all our rooms.

I am sorry to hear you never liked the breakfast queues and I recommend you go a different time as sometimes it can get busy depending on the demand at that particular time you arrived there.

We are glad you had a nice coffee to wake you up in the morning and I really hope you can consider giving us another chance and can assure you that you will have a much better experience upon your next visit.

Once again we thank you for your feedback.

Warm Regards,
Guest Relations Manager

This was the chepest last-minute option near Victoria/Pimlico. The twin room was clean (with the only exception of the mushrooming shower head) but a little bit small for storing the luggage for 6 nights. Breakfast was acceptable, served just until 9:15, even on weekends.

Room Tip: Avoid the basement if you don't want to hear noise coming from the breakfast room.

Dear Tormod,

Thank you for your review,

We are really sorry to hear you wasn't happy with the hotel,

The rooms in this area as a 3* standard are similar sizes for the money you pay as we are located in a very good and centrally located area.

If you request at the reception if a different room is available we will try to move you subject to availability.

We are sorry you never liked our luggage room as we are a very busy hotel and the luggage room at times become overcrowded especially as some guests are a little hap hazard about how they leave their luggage. Just a reminder to other guests that the luggage room is a completely free service.

We hope you will consider us again in the future and can assure that your next stay will be more pleasant.

Warm Regards,
Guest Relations Manager

We opted for a "family room" which was a small cold rectangular room with 4 beds in a row and a small uninviting en-suite bathroom. Maybe we were unlucky with the room choice as the hotel looked ok from the outside. However, the reception was small, as was the staircase leading to the underground restaurant - which was also cramped. It didn't help that my daughter fell I'll leaving her bed bound for a day along with my wife, stuck in what was a horrible room. The whole weekend was a disaster, not helped by the fact that the room was so poor. On the plus side, the hotel staff were polite and the continental breakfast was edible.

As a frequent last minute hotel 'stayer' I often look to stay near to my workplace in Pimlico.

On this occassion Huttons Hotel was by far the cheapest when combined with proximity to work so I booked a 'single' and hoped for the best.

Check-in was quick and uneventful and I was given the key to a room on the 4th floor. Upon entering i was pleasantly suprised. Although basic and a little dated it had everything I needed. Bed/shower room and toilet. There was a also a TV and tea/coffee. Whilst some readers will think this is the norm for hotels it is definitely not the case for budget hotels in this area. Normally you get nothing more than a bed, sometimes less. In fact I once booked at a hotel that had closed down so I didn't even get a hotel let alone a bed :-).

Anyway, I digress, I was very happy with what I got for what I paid. Slept well and awoke feeling as fresh as a daisy in time for going to work. And that's it, a simple review for a somewhat simple hotel. Excellent value, excellent location, great value and would definitely stay here again sometime.

I didn't have time for breakfast so no comment on that this time.
