“Superb location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014 via mobile

Overall this hotel is well situated and that is its biggest plus point. But it is a nice hilton.

Location: 2 min walk from green park tube station. Thus you are right on the Piccadilly line tube that has stops at important locations for tourists such as Piccadilly station, Covent garden etc

From the airport: Take the Piccadilly line tube. Off at green park. You are at your hotel with minimal cost. (Buy an Oyster card at the tube station at heathrow).

Rooms: large room, tall ceilings , good bathroom. Coffee machine and range of tea with kettle was good.

Have stayed here weekly for the last five months and always greeted with a smile and by name. Friendly Service and always welcomed back. Great location with easy access to public transport & great shops.

I stayed in two different rooms while booked at the Green Park Hilton for one full week. Our original reservation was canceled due to a scheduling conflict (our mistake) and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us on short notice. The first room was more like a closet, and very different from the rooms we moved into the next day. In my second room, the ceilings were high, there was plenty of light, and the bathroom was spacious. There weren’t any extras worth mentioning, and I would say the hotel is in need of a few updates. However, the location is a major highlight, with Green Park across the street and Buckingham Palace just a short walk away. I would recommend this hotel to someone traveling on business, less so on holiday.

I fear that this hotel has deteriorated in the many years since I last visited.

Things that are broken don't seem to get fixed - or not quickly anyway. There are notionally 2 lifts (elevators!). One of them didn't work at all for the three nights I was there - no notice, no apology nothing. The one that did work seemed to be very temperamental - twice taking me to the ground floor whereupon the doors did not open and I found myself going back up again. The floor indicators above the lifts on ground floor level were both missing their pointers.

The air con in the room stopped working the second night and when I called down I was told "Oh yes there is a problem on the 4th Floor - we're trying to fix it". It got fixed only on the morning I left. The only times I used the phone it didn't seem to matter which button you pressed it rang and rang and then a voice said "thank you and goodbye"!

There is no minibar - although I read a newspaper article saying that hotels are removing minibars because there is not enough usage - so maybe this is why. There was at least a complimentary and large bottle of water every day which is probably all I needed.

Lots of stains on carpets, walls everywhere you go - woodwork dented, scratched and in generally poor repair. Wear and tear it may be but when was the place last refreshed or refurbished? It has the feel of somewhere the owners (franchisees?) aren't prepared to put too much money into the capital upkeep of the place.

Thank goodness then for the efficiency and friendliness of all the multinational staff - reception, concierge and breakfast staff all excellent. They stood out in an otherwise gloomy environment. And yes the location is good - it's not right next door to very much but it's 10-15 minutes walk away from a lot.

Also, the breakfast wasn't at all bad - a few cereals (including heavily-crushed Weetabix!), the normal juices and all the usual English breakfast components. Porridge was great one day but very watery next day (different chef I assume). There is an omelette station but it seemed not to be attended all the time. But on the whole it was fine - and it was good to be able to pick up a paper on the way in to catch up with the news over a fried egg!

So, for staff and location 4* - for the quality of the hotel itself 2* - which by my reckoning comes out as 3* !! Very disappointing when you're paying over GBP200 per night.

Sadly, I don't think I'll be staying here again unless and until I hear that it's been refurbished to bring it up to the required standard.

PS. I wonder do Hilton themselves perform any quality reviews of establishments that are run by franchisees using their brand name? If so, this one might be worth a visit.

Spent 2 nights at Hilton Green Park and had a very enjoyable stay. The room was very comfortable and had the added benefit of a balcony (5th floor). The hotel is in a very convenient situation for the main London sites and I found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was also very good with a wide choice.
I was lucky to have had a special deal on this occasion, otherwise I would have found the hotel rather expensive.
On the whole very pleasant 3 days - 2 nights

I came from The Palm Atlantis in Dubai to this hotel - it was a clear downgrade. I booked a single room, which was more or less a broom closet. The floors were uneven, due to the old building. Everything has a patina. I would compare it rather to a bed and breakfast than to a four-star-Hilton. To say the best: it is well located in the city centre, you can reach all major places by walk. Anyway: I can´t recommend it.

Great location, 5 minutes from the Green Park tube station, walking distance to Oxford street and Buckingham palace

Good service overall: speedy check-in and check-out, accommodating staff, everyone was friendly

Good value if you get it on a deal, e.g. lastminute.com

However:
Rooms were quite small (not sure they can do much as I'm sure they're constrained by the fact it's an old building)
No chargers next to the bed
Wifi in the room (522) was not great, sometimes disconnected
