“Hilton London Green Park”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014

This hotel is small, old, with cramped corridors, and dated rooms. It is not up to the Hilton standard. The staff are very courteous and helpful, and the location of the hotel is great - within walking distance of Piccadilly Circus. However, these pluses cannot make up for the low quality of the hotel itself.

The location was spot on, you can walk to the theatres and there are a host of really good restaurants nearby for supper. We received excellent service from reception onward's.The staff were friendly and professional throughout. The breakfast selection was delicious and the afternoon tea a real treat. we would definitely go back.

Spent a very enjoyable couple of hours at the Tiger Green Brasserie having afternoon tea. There was a good selection of teas which complimented the assortment of sandwiches cakes and scones. The staff were both friendly and professional creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

The first impression is that this hotel is due for refurbishment - and this is clearly true. For example, some of the lounge and bar furniture is well worn and due for replacement. The second impression is of very helpful and friendly staff. We were checked-in by a member of staff I subsequently learned is called Justas. Our room wasn't quite ready and so he showed us to the lounge and, since the staff were busy with other orders, he personally collected and delivered tea and coffee for us to drink while we waited. This is above and beyond what one normally experiences - well done Justas!

In addition, I told Justas that my diamond HiltonHonors care hadn't arrived. He checked with Hilton and wrote a letter to me to assure me it would arrive at my home address in the next two weeks.

Our room was comfortable and large, with all the normal bits and pieces - tea, coffee, robes, iron, mini bar, etc. The air con worked well .... not always the case in London. Breakfast next morning was the regular Hiton fare -which we like very much. Staff were attentive and efficient.

The location of the hotel is superb. it is a 15 - 20 minute walk, through Mayfair, to Oxford Street and about the same to the theatres on Shaftsbury Avenue and Leicester Square, with Covent Garden 5 minutes further on. Green Park itself, and the Ritz and Fortnum and Mason are on the doorstep. Buck Palace is 5 minutes across the park.

We stayed for three nights and took dinner in the excellent Tiger Green Brasserie on one of those nights. it was notable that many of the diners in Tiger Green were not guests - a sign of a good reputation. In many Hiltons, the dining room is almost empty in the evenings.

The hotel staff were unfailingly excellent throughout our stay. Check out was efficient.

Although there are Hiltons with better facilities in London and that have been refurbished, and others that are cheaper, we will return to this one due to the location and the quality of the staff and food.

Thanks again Justas Maksimov ... I hope that the management read this and pass on our appreciation.

Spent one night at this hotel on a weekend visit to London. Very comfortable room and breakfast was first class. Had dinner in the Tiger Brasserie, the food was excellent but the restaurant was a bit disappointing as it was very minimalist with no ambience at all. The decor was very bland and didn't reflect the name of the restaurant. Having said all that, the service was excellent with very friendly staff and delicious food.

We visited the Hilton with friends for afternoon But there was a mix up with our booking and instead of being booked for afternoon tea they were expecting us for an evening meal. We were told that we would have to eat an hour earlier if we still wanted afternoon tea as tea finished at 5pm. We were a little confused when guests were still arriving at 5.15 for afternoon tea which would have been much more convenient for us! The waitress was lovely however the quality of food was not fantastic and we had to return a scone as it was still frozen in the middle! I felt the whole experience did not live up to the standards of the hotel image. Ok if you just want an afternoon tea but not the special treat we were expecting.

This hotel was great! The rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at the hotel which was delicious. The hotel's location is wonderful. It is a short walk to Buckingham Palace and Green Park is beautiful.
