Many complain about the small rooms but I expected that. I was actually amused by how small they really are. I had to climb over my suitcase to get into the room. The room was fairly clean though the floors do squeak like others have said. It's an old building so expected. The shower pressure is low making showers a challenge. The biggest complain that I have is the internet. I could not stay connected. It will connect then continue to disconnect. It made working at all very difficult. I would not stay here again for that reason alone. The food was fine and the staff was friendly. The location is good.

I would pay more money for a different hotel to have reliable business amenities.

Room Tip: The WiFi is awful but you might ask if it works better in some areas.

The hotel location is good near the Hyde Park and near the Paddington Station, you can have a beautiful walk along side the Hyde Park to the Oxford Street, there's many stores and small restaurants near the hotel. Hotel entrance is nice and clean but not to the level of 4 stars, friendly staff, the rooms are clean with good furniture but small, very good breakfast with spacious restaurant, two small elevators one of them is not working. In general good hotel for business and short visit to London.

If you ask the receptionist to call you a cab or a taxi they don't, they call an expensive private hire company called Plaza Chauffeur Cars instead who charge a whole lot more than a cab or taxi.
We travelled one mile from the hotel to the start of Oxford street in less than 10 minutes and it cost £17, thats £10 more than a taxi would have cost, more than double!!!
The car that picked us up was a toyota and the driver was uniformed so I could see no reason why we had to pay more than double what we expected for such a short drive.
The reception staff don't tell you they have called the expensive company instead of a normal Cab or taxi, there is no notice displayed either to that effect and the 'Meter' in the car took the shape of a mobile phone which was not within view.
Upon our return I asked the receptionist to speak to the duty manager about the matter but was told that 'Managers don't work week-ends" The receptionist said that it was company policy to always call th Plaza cars even if the guest asks for a London Taxi.
The room was small.
The bathroom in a poor state of repair, flaking paint in ours and something light brown smeared near the ceiling which looked terrible but was probably just discoloured sealant (I hope)
The cooked breakfast didn't include Bacon.
The main fire exit was blocked on the ground floor with a stack of large cardboard boxes left overnight.
The light switches looked old and had large gaps between the switch and the body.
The Air Con didnt work.
I stayed at the Blakemore hotel next door to the Henry VII just before Christmas and the contrast could not be greater, the Blakemore was excellent.

Room Tip: Don't order a cab or taxi from reception!

Stayed at this hotel for one night on a last minute booking !
Chose it because of location, which was good for me and for the price!
Once again after shopping around on line, found this place cheaper than the local crap travelodge !
Overall a comfortable hotel, good breakfast, pleasant staff, have stayed in slightly better for the money, it who wouldn't stay here at the bargain price that I paid, would have no problems staying again.
Tip: plenty of free on street parking until 8:30 am

I've been in this hotel 4 days recommended by Barceló Viatges. The experience in this hotel was not bad, but it can't be rated as a 4 star hotel.

The staff at reception and during breaksfast services were excellent beyond all doubt. If you don't know English, it's the place to stay during your trip at London because Spanish is the main language used in the hotel, although the staff also speak in English.

The rooms are too small, or smaller than I expected for a for star hotel and what I found terrible is that my room was not cleaned under the beds. It was possible to see all the dirtiness under the beds, which it could be terrible for people who suffers about allergies and I'm not joking about that beucause everything needs to be perfectly cleaned to fulfill all the regulations set by the Government.

Breakfast self-service was more than acceptable.

To sum up, Henry VII should be a 3 star hotel and pay attention under your beds.

Very nice hotel, conveniently situated for the City and West End. The staff were extremely professional, friendly, helpful and caring. Just could not fault them.
The room was very small for a double which made things very difficult for me and my wife to move about easily. However the bed was very comfortable and overall the room and bathroom were very clean if not a little bit in need of redecoration and TLC.
We would certainly say that this is a good hotel for an overnight stay.

Room Tip: Make sure that the room you have is large enough for your use.
