We were in London for 2 days of sightseeing and found this hotel to be a fantastic location for getting to the major tourist attractions. We were in walking distance of the Shard (which we would fully recommend doing-the views are incredible!) and also to Bankside, which has a great choice of restaurants and pubs; we chose to eat at Zizzis.
Upon our arrival a member of staff came over to check us in using the hotel's new tablet system, which was a very efficient process. Our room was clean, modern and well equipped, and the queen sized bed was very comfortable. There is a Pret opposite the hotel where we bought breakfast (a much cheaper option than the breakfast in the hotel which was around £15). The hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk from London Bridge tube station, and a little shorter from Southwark station. After we checked out we were able to store our luggage until we were ready to catch our train back in the evening, which we really appreciated as we still had a lot of walking to do! We agreed that we would definitely consider this hotel, and the Mercure chain generally, again in the future.

Really great hotel which is very funkily decorated. There doesn't appear to be a check in desk, instead staff greet you and take you to one of the numerous sofas & chairs where they check you in on their tablets - quite nice and more private. The service is great and its handy for pret a manger, m&s food and the sites of Souithwark. Staff told me how to get to the West End very easily. Will stay again.

We were away for a weekend in London and needed to stay in a Mercure Chain hotel as we were using reward points for part payment.

We opted for this hotel by chance as we would not normally have looked at a location South of the river but wanted someone slightly away from the main sites etc.

Location-wise we found this ideal as the hotel is a short walk from either London Bridge or Waterloo underground stations, the tourist buses pass on the main road and getting a taxi is easy.

The hotel itself was really nice and had an innovative reception format, moving away from the formal reception style and using a more relaxed lounge style layout with check in / out via staff using PC tablets. This really worked well in terms of the atmosphere at the hotel and the approach of the staff, who were professional, friendly and courteous

The room was nice, bed comfortable and the hotel itself well sound-proofed to say it is on a main road. The added benefit was that nearby is a good selection of restaurants with indoor / outdoor eating facilities.

The only gripe (as with many hotels these days) is the cost of breakfast if it is not purchased as part of a B&B deal, as I think the continental was £10 and full £15 pp - for this the selection was okay but not brilliant.

Would I stay here again - yes.

Quite well located, 10-minute walk to London Bridge and Tate, bus stop at the door (didn't use the bus though), and Railway and Underground services just 5/10 minutes away. It takes around 20 minutes to get to all major attractions.

Staff was really really nice and helpful, once they even got us some wraps at 2.30am when we got back from work. They also checked the train hours and stuff for us (great if you're working a lot).

The room was definitly good, 4* standard, comfortable. Nothing bad to say really. I think the breakfast is a bit expensive, but there are plenty of places around (there's a good one right on the other side of the street). I've stayed there in 2006 too, and had nothing to say either. Now it's quite better as it has been renewed.

Stay there several times for Business related trips. Nice location, quite and near some excellent restaurants. The staff is really good, precise and happy to help. Internet could be faster but it is good to read emails. The hotel passed a "facelift" recently and now rooms are being updated.
