I like this hotel on lots of fronts, good staff, location and interesting building I don't like it on a number of counts the rooms can be very wall (hit and miss), some parts need a bit of attention (mould in shower) and breakfast doesn't start until 7 am. Would I stay here again, yes would it be my first choice in the Gloucester Road area no

Stayed overnight after going to the BBC proms and the hotel was in a close location. The building both in and out was exquisite and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had a nice decor with the only problem being that the room did not have air conditioning. All in all the hotel was excellent for an overnight stay and relatively easy to find, being in close proximity to the sights and to the London Underground.

Visited with my son, having plans in the South Kensington this was a good choice and made worth the price little up to our planned budget.
The room we got was Executive- more beds in fact which opened more space then we expected to keep our stuff, shpping bags, running gear , toys etc.. I don't know what we would feel in the regular room we were supposed to get... but this was fine.
the Continental brekfast, compared to lower cost hotels in UK, was here excellent, rich buffet was quite good, and we had no issue, that i was more afraid of for my sons morning habits..
The service was excellent, at the level and even above!

Room Tip: check the size of the room and compare it with the picture as it may mislead...the space to put the...

We've stayed here many times and always love the traditional English decor of the hotel, history of it, exquisite rooms and quick tube access, but this time we were a bit disappointed in the service. Though only there for 3 days, the first day we realized the privacy blind on one of the very large windows in our suite was broken and reported it. However, it was never fixed and thus the whole neighborhood could see in our room, night and day. It was too hot to close the drapes to block the outdoor light and view at night so we just lived with it. But when I pay this much
and especially as a repeat customer, I really expect my requests for service to be fulfilled quickly. We shall stay again but I won't pay extra for a suite- it wasn't worth it.

We were in one of the Bond Rooms - 001 etc - which are in the basement.

At first, I panicked.
Turns out - these are the biggest and coolest rooms (temperature) in the hotel.
It was a nice, clean large cool room.

You can see and be seen by hotel staff and street traffic as the windows start on the street and come below it. Suggest you keep your shades down at all hours.

Our room was recently renovated and great care was given to decoration. The same care was not given to amenities that would make travel easier. Once you put all the pillows into the closet, you lose precious space for you. When I asked for suitcase racks - none were to be found. We did solve the problem collectively by adding some dining chairs to our room.

Everything was clean and shiny. Hotel staff was helpful when asked but not engaging or participatory. For example, several times over the course of days, I had to go out into the hall to find someone to pour a drink in the bar.

We did not try the restaurant or room service as there are ample restaurants in the neighborhood - especially for coffee. You are conveniently located near a tube stop, not too fair from a big Sainsbury, ten minute walk to Harrod's, Victoria and Albert Museum. Quiet neighborhood.

We have stayed at the Grange Strathmore a number of times now. It has been updated extensively and is an excellent standard now. We had a number of rooms as we were in a group, room numbers 116, 120 and 121. There were two twin rooms and one triple, they were all located on the 1st floor and were well appointed and spacious. A couple of people in our group ordered room service and had snacks in the bar, and they were very good. There are a couple of points that could be improved, the WIFI is not free which is disappointing for a large London hotel. The pillow in the room were not a great standard, and the bed was extremely firm, which I don't mind but some people might not like. All in all, a great location if you have an activity to do at the Royal Albert Hall, its close to the museums and other attractions. Kensington is a lovely part of London and I would recommend the Grange Strathmore as a Great Place to stay.

Stayed at the Grange Strathmore for 6 nights with our two kids this summer. We loved the location and the room was a good size for 4 people (chose a family room). It was nicely appointed and clean as well. The main floor lounge was a great spot to have a night cap or afternoon tea and the breakfast area was very large with big comfortable chairs and tables to eat. We had the continental breakfast included with our room which was fine although I couldn't help but notice that the meat and cheese trays were left out at room temp. for a few hours each day. By the end of our stay I noticed that they finally moved the cheese trays to chilled servers but the meat seemed to stay put. The staff were ok but to be honest, we didn't find them to be all that friendly. Overall, we liked the hotel.
