After booking this hotel for a five night stay over 9 months ago we weren't prepared to be told on arrival of a 'computer glitch' that had double booked our room. Ironically the 'glitch' happened the day prior to our arrival. I had chosen this hotel because of it's convenient location and because that was the area where we wanted to stay. We had no choice but to take up their offer to transfer to Grange Holborn. We were given a couple of sweeteners - free breakfasts and free wifi and we were told that the Grange Holborn is a supposedly five star hotel. We were and still are extremely angry about this because it has thrown our months of planning out the window in one foul swoop. Thanks a lot!!

For someone who loves to walk this is the ideal place to locate yourself. With kensington Gardens and Hyde Park 5 minutes away and only a 30 minute stroll to the centre of London, we were in heaven. The service and rooms were great and the local hotels and Glouster Rd restaurants were a treat! So good the first time we wants back for a second stay!!!!

Room Tip: Free wifi at local pubs!!!

We booked a "Superior" double room in this hotel through a travel agent in Australia.
The room was small but clean with the main problem being nowhere to put our cases other than on the only desk in the room and on the floor.
This made the room very cramped.
Surely, they must know that most people booking double rooms have more than one case.
Left without bathroom linen after one room service.
Asked for a fresh batch of toast due to it being uncooked at one breakfast, but no response from the kitchen, so gave up and left the dining room.
I know the older Kensington hotels rooms can be a bit small, but this hotel can only be described as average and probably only worth around two thirds of the price we paid for a week's accommodation.
I'm glad they didn't offer anything less than their "Superior" room - I would hate to think how small it would have been.

Room Tip: Ask if the room has a suitcase stand.

Really comfortable Room, think many were refurbished a couple of years ago.
The staff there really were great at their job. On arrival, they were attentive and helpful, and seemed to really care that the check-in and the stay were customer focused.

Good Breakfast there as per usual, and then off to the Underground Station at Gloucester Road, just 2 minutes away.

Perfect!

Room Tip: All on the front seem large and airy, whilst at the back they're slightly quieter as away from t...

I like this hotel on lots of fronts, good staff, location and interesting building I don't like it on a number of counts the rooms can be very wall (hit and miss), some parts need a bit of attention (mould in shower) and breakfast doesn't start until 7 am. Would I stay here again, yes would it be my first choice in the Gloucester Road area no

Stayed overnight after going to the BBC proms and the hotel was in a close location. The building both in and out was exquisite and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had a nice decor with the only problem being that the room did not have air conditioning. All in all the hotel was excellent for an overnight stay and relatively easy to find, being in close proximity to the sights and to the London Underground.

Visited with my son, having plans in the South Kensington this was a good choice and made worth the price little up to our planned budget.
The room we got was Executive- more beds in fact which opened more space then we expected to keep our stuff, shpping bags, running gear , toys etc.. I don't know what we would feel in the regular room we were supposed to get... but this was fine.
the Continental brekfast, compared to lower cost hotels in UK, was here excellent, rich buffet was quite good, and we had no issue, that i was more afraid of for my sons morning habits..
The service was excellent, at the level and even above!

Room Tip: check the size of the room and compare it with the picture as it may mislead...the space to put the...
