“Very nice stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2010

We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. The hotel is right opposite the V&A museum, so is in a great position for all the other museums in the area, as well as being just round the corner from South Kensington tube station. The hotel is clean, and the rooms a nice size. The breakfast is buffet style, and was very good, with attentive staff for tea and coffee. Although pricey, the bar/lounge is very comfy with one TV showing news and another showing live sport. If you don't want to see the TV's, plenty of the comfy sofas face away from the screens. All in all, a heartily recommended hotel.

First Class Service, Room 235 was on the front and adequate in size. The hotel is in a good location with a Bus stop right outside, we have stayed many times before and like the feel of the Hotel. We are not happy about the service charges every time you purchase a drink / coffee / food from the bar, there should be no service charge for residents; also the cooked breakfast is not always hot. We would not stay at the hotel just for the food as it’s rather repetitive but thankfully there lots of other eating houses in the area with more reasonable prices, sadly this does let the hotel down.

We stayed here for one night and on the whole it was a good experience. We booked a "superior" double room, the first room we were given was a twin on the first floor. The room had no view and the furniture was well passed its best. We were given another room on the 5th floor this time with a small double bed. The room was better furnished and slightly bigger but still on the small side. I really was not sure that this was a superior room. Everything was very clean. good sized towels and good bubble bath etc. The bar area was lovely, tastefully decorated for Christmas, with very good subdued lighting. The bar staff were attentive, although £8.50 for a gin and tonic seemed excessive even for London prices! Breakfast was good, buffet style but freshly cooked and replenished regularly, the scrambled egg was the best I have had in a hotel for a long time. I asked about the difference between a superior room and a "normal" room, I was told that the hotel had very few rooms which were not classified as superior. The "normal" rooms are waiting refurbishment. I suggest that if you want a decent sized bed you book an executive room. The location is first class and we will stay again. There is an excellent Italian restaurant very close to the hotel, come out of the hotel and turn right, very good pasta and delightful staff.

This is my fourth stay at this hotel, needless to say I love it. My room as always was
large with plenty of storage space. A necessity as I was here for 2 weeks. I was on the
fourth floor overlooking a garden. Very quiet. Housekeeping staff is great, room was
always cleaned to perfection.

Breakfast is a buffet and has anything and everything you could want. Lounge is very
peaceful and quiet, staff there very good.

Location is unbeatable. Across the street from the V&A museum and lots of buses that
go to every part of London. South Kensiington Tube station is 5 minutes away.

Neighbor has great stores and restaurants. Both big and small. The Italian restaurant
right next to the hotel (Orsinis) is family owned and the food is great. Lots of good
restaurants near the Tube station .

Be sure to go to the Tower and if you have time go to Hampton Court and Windsor.
Just take the train from either Waterloo or Paddington and pay admission and walk the
grounds. There are audio tours included in admission at both Palaces all very good.

One more hint go to the Queen's Gallery and Royal Mews atttached to Buckingham
Palace. Both are tiny gems. You could see everything in no more than 2 hours, the
Faberage collection is worth the admission.

All in all, I'm sure you can tell I love London and one of the reasons is the Rembrandt
Hotel.

Fiances permitting I will be back.

This hotel is a great find. I as a solo traveller have experienced a variety of single rooms in hotels. However this was by far the most comfortable and spacious. The staff were helpful and the meals were great. Its located directly across from the victoria and albert museum and 5 mins walk from harrods and other luxury shops. Its also situated on a great bus routeswhich makes it easy to get around london.

We stayed in the Rembrant for six nights in early Novmeber, 2009. Having vacationed in London three other times we were quite suprised with the Rembrandt. Front desk staff let us choose between three rooms. We had a comfortable room on the fourth floor overlooking a beautiful garden. The room was large and clean. The house staff were very helpful. Breakfast daily was very good. It would be very difficult to walk away hungry. The hotel is conveniently located within a 5 minute walk of Knightsbridge. There is a great busy pub just outside the South Kensington tube station. (5min walk).
If you are thinking of a tour to Windsor Castle - buy a train ticket at Waterloo Station 9 pounds return and pay your entry fee into the castle ( 15 pound) 24 pounds per person instead of 50 to 60 pounds with a tour operator. Take in some "London Walks".

Being an expatriate I had despaired of finding a decent hotel in London, for a 5-night stay. However, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Friendly staff, good service and food, so convenient for tube and bus and opposite the V & A which is a must. Would definitely recommend and use again.
