This was one of the highlights of my 2-day adventure in London! Marvellous museum and excellent historical depiction of WWII war rooms, used by Churchill and his military advisors etc. I spent my entire time at the museum until they kicked me out. Takes you on a journey through Churchill's life, career and personal life before, during and after WWII. If you are pressed for time, this should be at the top of your list.

This museum preserves the rooms in which Winston Churchill lead the English through World War II. It has their personal quarters, the War Cabinet Room, the map room where every detail of the war was tracked on hug maps and where the most technologically advanced communications of the 1940's enable communication with all branches of the military and with the American command. The map room maps are left just as they were on the day that the war cabinet left the facility in 1945. It gives vivid picture of how improvisational the war could be sometimes and how Winnie's determination and energy buoyed up the British people at a critical moment when Britain almost fell to Germany during the early years of the war.

Even more, you have a museum about the life and career of Winston Churchill one of the outstanding statesmen of the 20th century. I always knew Churchill as a revered conservative politician and was quite surprised to learn how radical he was early in his political career. I was also astounded that he was such a prolific author. His fast wit is in evidence all over the collection. I was left with a sense that this aristocratically born Victorian patrician became someone with great empathy for working people and a plainspoken way in his public life that put people at ease and behind his efforts, very much like the American President Theodore Roosevelt.

We spent three hours here and had to be shooed out when the museum was closing. We could have spent 4-5 hours there. It is around 20 pounds for a ticket but comes free with the London Pass.

What an incredible site. You walk right back into 1940-45. I found the audio tour really interesting. The Churchill museum is included, and has lots of mixed media and terrific artifacts. The courage of Churchill, his cabinet, and the less famous staff who coordinated the war effort while London was being bombed are still an inspiration.

The Churchill War Rooms were left intact as WW@ ended. You can walk through the many aspects of Churchill during the war as well as his life. Absolutely fascinating. Worth a few hours to learn about this amazing man.

What a great place to go to learn about Churchill and where he ran the country during the war. The audio guide was very welcome and the whole attraction was a great bigger than first appeared. They have created a large museum which was very informative and overall you could spend hours at the attraction. WELL WORTH A VISIT.
