“Good Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2013

This hotel is in a great location, it is very close to the Tower Hill tube station, it is a nice area and very close to the Tower of London itself. My husband was on business so my young son and I toured while he was working. We found the staff friendly and my son loved coming in each day and getting a warm cookie from the front desk.

We had wanted to upgrade to an Executive suite but none were available at check in so if this is something you want consider booking in advance. I didn't care for the iMac tv, I thought it was a bit of a pain but we don't watch much TV anyway.

Overall we were happy with this hotel and would stay here again.

spent 4 days here in a chilly UK november, the first two freezing cold the second habitable....

why? - after a few engineers visits it appears the trick to the climate control is to always have the fan setting on 'auto' on no account put it on anything else otherwise it has the very opposite effect on the heating / cooling as you intended...
might be helpful?

aside of that i thought reception was v good, did not try food, had an inward facing room, rather small with slightly odd layout, glad it was only 4 days, well appointed but fittings had a rather 'stylish but cheap' feel about them if honest, bed very comfortable, inward looking rooms are odd as you can see into all sorts of other rooms and vice versa unless you close the curtains which makes the room bit claustrophobic, great for exhibitionists and pervs i guess, sound proofing not great, internet was free and reliable if i recall correctly unusual and a benefit for hilton who susually charge, tv iMac had a habit to switch itself on during the night

as was only paying 119 gbp a very good deal. may try again now i am forewarned of the intricacies of the climate control

Room Tip: inward facing for peeping toms and exhibitionists

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Doubletree Hilton at Tower Bridge, and what a treat it was. On arriving we were informed as it was my partner's birthday (we did tell them this on booking) that we were having a free upgrade to an executive room. This meant we had 24 hour access to the executive lounge, so soft drinks and snacks available all day (also wine and canapés between 5.30 and 8, exceptional!!!). The room was great, good views of Tower of London and Tower Bridge, slight downer that construction works are going on across from the hotel but not an issue really. Didn't have breakfast here as felt it was too expensive, did dine at the Natural Kitchen, it really compliments the hotel well. Overall, fantastic! And my partner was very excited when she bumped in to some of Boyzone who were staying here, think that was her highlight actually! Will see you again soon!

Relatively simple, but nice, room and effective staff. An effortless stay so I could focus on my jetlag and my meetings. Mac/TV combo works surprisingly well and was a quirky feature. Everything that I needed was in the room. The lounge area downstairs is exactly what you would want: pleasant bar, convenience shop, and plenty of places to sit. Sophisticated looking and acting guests.

Just under $200 bucks is a perfectly good price in London.

Only downside was the breakfast which came in at a very pricey 26 GBP. Another morning I ate at the restaurant Natural Kitchen which is attached to the hotel near the elevators. The food was much better and came in at a more reasonable 17 GBP, so I recommend doing that instead.

Stayed here with my wife on a weekend leisure break in London at the end of November.

Pros:
Great location, one minute walk from Tower Hill tube station, only 10 mins on the tube to Kings Cross, felt very safe walking from tube station and around the area
Room and all communal areas were very clean and modern, including Apple Mac in room
We were upgraded to have a pass for the exec lounge which gave you free unlimited soft drinks and hot drinks 24 hours and alcohol 5-8pm

Cons:
Breakfast wasn't included in our room rate and is expensive at £21.50 each
Sky lounge has some good views but again expensive, £17 for 2 ciders

Excellent location & close to tube, walking distance to Tower of London
Excellent staff that my 3 day business stay a delight
Excellent views from the Skylounge bar & terrace -though it was a bit cold in mid-November...-
Overall a place to recommend and of course among the top places I've stayed in London.
Congratulations!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has views to the Tower of London
