Our experience at this hotel was great from start to finish. We did only stay for one night but still. We managed to get a reduced rate room which was a bonus to start off with. We arrived at the hotel approximately 3 hours before we were allowed to check-in but this was not a problem and we were able to check in early. We have stayed at a DoubleTree before so knew what to expect, although the free cookie upon checking in was a welcome treat! The hotel is very modern and in a great location - no more than a 2 minute walk around the corner to Tower Hill tube station and only a short walk to the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St Katharine's Dock, the Shard and the Monument. The room itself was modern, well furnished and had a queen size bed. Not the biggest room in the world but this is London. The only other niggle would be that there wasn't a bath. But that's only a small issue. The staff were very friendly and just as helpful; they were able to extend our check out time by 2 hours to 2pm, free of charge, meaning we were able to make the most of our time in London. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was fabulous, given that our room was right above a train station it was silent and the roof bar at night was a lovely setting to enjoy a splended cocktail. Only dissapointment is that we did get disturped twice in the morning by housekeeping once at 8 am the second time at 10 ish, both times before we had fully accepted the morning and where not out of bed!

We stayed 2 nights in the DoubleTree. Great Location, 2min walk from Tower Hill Underground (District and Circle Line) & Tower Gateway (DLR) - fantastic service throughout the entire time. We got our room already at 9am. Hotel very clean, very helpful staff. We had an executive room on the 9th floor with a great view, rooms for London Hotel proportions spacious. Not spend to much time in the room and therefore even not tried the iMac entertainment system. Breakfast at executive breakfast area ok but nothing special. Overall a great hotel for everyone who likes to receive great service anytime.

Room Tip: Executive room on the 9th floor with view on "The Shard" and Thames River or Tower Bridge

Excellent location and well greeted on arrival. Stayed New Years eve but there were plenty of staff to assist. All staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. I booked this hotel on the morning of New Year's Eve at the last minute and chose a queen guest room. On arrival, we were told that we had a twin room, however the mistake was rectified instantly. We were given warm free cookies too which was very tasty and a nice gesture.

The hotel entrance is modern and staff are helpful and willing to assist at all times. The room itself was extremely clean and spacious, as you would expect. The view wasn't terribly great but didn't really bother us as we weren't going to be in the room much.
The bathroom was clean (few slight wear and tear marks but nothing bad) and provided shampoo, and other toiletries. The bed was meant to be a queen or king however I am pretty sure it was a large double at the most, and very high up!

The room had a desk and chair, table and chair, ironing board and iron, safe, hair dryer, fridge, wardrobe and hangers, Apple TV and computer! Free wifi however I didn't use this, luggage stand, free water and magazine.
5* room without a doubt.

Breakfast was not included and £15 per person (if you got a voucher from reception otherwise £21 if you turned up) which we decided to skip.

We received an envelope to put the room keys in under the door and post these in the easy checkout box which was extremely helpful considering the queues as you can imagine on New Year's Day.

I would rate this hotel highly and recommend it to anyone. The location is central however tucked away slightly, but if you are after quality and location without the views then this is perfect.
I can't really fault this In any way... Maybe the price of the breakfast, however we chose not to add this on booking so maybe would have been cheaper in advance.
Our room was also cancelable up until 4pm on the day which is great.
We were only in London for 14 hours so hardly at the hotel, however on our experience, we would definitely visit again and definitely recommend. Thanks for making New Year's Eve that much better.

Myself and my 12 year old son had a fantastic 2 nights here.. brilliant location.. lovely friendly staff.. loads of free yummy cookies! Great views, delicious breakfast.. all you could ever ask for!! I will be back!!

We had a horrendous trip into London but it was made better by the warm friendly welcome we got at the hotel (and the warm cookie :-)). The reception area was very grand and check in was quick and easy!

The sky bar is great and the drinks are not too badly priced. We will certainly stay again!

I had an excellent stay here over Christmas 2013. Rooms were clean, all staff were friendly and efficient, and breakfast was excellent (if a little slow on 26th due to the chef having a hangover apparently). Lunch in the Sky lounge on the 26th was disappointing and if it hadn't been the Christmas break, would probably asked for most to be re-prepared (stale bread is not a good taste in a cheese sandwich). But overall, an excellent short stay.
