This hotel is close to Tower hill underground and Fenchurch St Station . Very welcoming staff rooms are fine but none have baths We were in a king double but still no bath , The hotel is tucked away in Pepys St which is a real plus point as it is very quiet in the rooms ,unlike many London Hotels. Great views from the Sky Lounge bar on the 12th floor but you certainly have to pay for the privilege, drinks are very expensive and service is average 5 mins to get a beer and a Whisky and Ginger. cost £18.95 and the bar was not very busy for a Thursday evening. The breakfast is also expensive , Didn't try it went to café next door much better price for a good breakfast.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your comments on trip advisor and we apologise you had been disappointed at not having a bath in your room. We do offer seperate baths in our Suites and I'm sorry if you had not been aware of this before arriving at the hotel. Thank you for choosing to visit the Skylounge during this stay, however our apologies if you had felt the service had been slow. This will be shared with the Skylounge team, and I hope our prices would not deter you from coming again, as these are in line with other similar venues in the City, that offer views and outdoor seating.

I hope we can welcome you back and 'wow' you next time around, and please let us know how our team can assist you when you are making your arrangements.

Have a fantastic weekend,

Kind regards
Amy

Everything about the room was great - comfortable bed, clean bathroom, ironing board, computer etc. The Skylounge was good fun on Saturday night, and bar staff were very pleasant and efficient. Only downside was that due to no stairs, waiting 5 minutes for lifts every time you want to move floors was frustrating.

Dear 'Nicola C'

Thank you for sharing your feedback from this recent stay. I'm really pleased you could not find any fault with your room nor your evening in the Skylounge in terms of service as well as the ambience, it's certainly a key attraction for our hotel for many of our guests and local visitors!

I'm terribly sorry you had noticed you needed to wait for a lift for a few minutes, and this is something we will be taking on board. If ever we are made aware of an issue with our lifts (which has not been the case recently), we do act on this quickly and ask for an engineer to attend the hotel. Again this hasn't been the case for some time, but we monitor this on a continuous basis as per our normal operating procedures.

Do let us know if ever we can be of any help with your future stays!

Kind regards
Amy

Chose this Doubletree because it was half the price of the Doubletree we've stayed in a little closer to the center of the West End. Couldn't have been happier with the choice! A couple of minutes walk from Tower Hill Tube station (and the Tower of London), the hotel has everything you go to a Doubletree for. We were checked in by Page, who couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful! She admitted to being in training, but you wouldn't have known that from the way she greeted us, got us checked in, and even made recommendations about where to eat dinner, since it was late afternoon. The room was large, a pleasant surprise from the previous Doubletree we stayed in, where the room was comfortable but snug. Free wi-fi, a spotless bathroom, and a king size bed made it a great stay. The bed was very firm, but a call to the desk brought a couple of extra duvets for padding within ten minutes. And after dark, head up to the Skylounge on the top floor. It's the best view of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and the Shard in all of London. Would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a king room and get that additional space.

Stayed here on Valentines weekend with my fiancee. The hotel is beautiful. The lobby area is very impressive when you walk in and the front desk was well staffed so we were checked in immediately with a smile and a warm cookie. The room was well equipped and had a very comfortable bed, with a spacious bathroom and a Mac PC/TV. The location is great, right beside the Tower of London and the Tower Hill tube stop. The entire city is easily accessible from the hotel as a result.

The hotel's skylounge bar is great and offers some lovely views of London, but it is a little expensive.

The only downside was that the room was so hot, even with the aircon on cold and it became a little uncomfortable. We also were looking directly into an office block across the road from us so we didn't have a nice view. These were only minor things though and did not impact negatively on our stay at all.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in London and I certainly would return to it.

We stayed in the Double Tree by Hilton for two nights on a weekend offer. It was about 5 minutes walk from Tower Hill tube station. It’s a relatively new hotel and Double Tree is the new brand mark used by Hilton. The reception hall opens out into a wide atrium and check-in was straight forward. All reception staff were extremely helpful during our stay. There are 12 floors and we stayed on the seventh, with a window view of the Gerkin straight-ahead. The room was spacious and superbly equipped. We were provided with an Apple Smart TV, which was fun to use once I got the hang of it. Breakfasts were plentiful and nourishing. However, the buffet area was a bit cramped and cues tended to formed at random. Possibly, they need a larger serving area. Members of the breakfast room breakfast staff were extremely obliging on the first morning but less so on the 2nd as they seemed rushed off their feet. It took three attempts to order tea and coffee. We didn’t have time to explore other facilities in the hotel although if you get a chance, do visit the 12th floor and take in a panoramic view of Tower Bridge etc. I would gladly book this hotel again but would again look out for weekend deals.

Stayed here on a long weekend visit to London. Booked in the January hilton sale so got a really good rate.

Very close to the tube station so access to anywhere in London is easy.

Very comfortable and good sized rooms with complimentary wifi. The bar has nice views of the Tower and bridge.

Didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food.

Stayed a couple of times and as always the staff were very nice.

I've stayed at this hotel before when it was under a different brand. Staying this time I was pleased to see the quality and style have been maintained. I'm a regular now in London and use this hotel quite a lot as it's hard to find a good, modern, high quality hotel near the City - I was working on Bishopsgate. A great option also as I stayed for a weekend and it's near some tourist spots like Tower of London and Tower Bridge - and near the tube.
