I've now stayed here twice, and both stays pretty much the same. The rooms are comfortable, the service is excellent and polite. The amenities are good for gold card holders, but the Exec Lounge would benefit from some more choice on snacks. Location excellent - very close to Tower Hill tube.

My one gripe is that the Apple TV in the room appears to have no remote on/off switch so you need to get out of bed to switch it off. And it came on at 4:00am on its own accord to wake me up, which was annoying.

But otherwise rooms and perfectly adequate, nice shower.

Room Tip: Although not part of the hotel, the Natural Kitchen restaurant attached does an excellent halloumi s...

The hotel is located in a great part of London, which enables one to get around with ease.

Arriving to the Hotel you are presented by the bar and reception with a nice airy and open feel to it. The service on check in was quite slow and could be improved upon.

The room was quite small, with a shower only bathroom. Trying to manoeuvre around the room can be quite hard as there is quite a lot of furniture in the room, and the room itself is lacking the space, therefore you can feel quite cramped and claustrophobic. However the room is clean.

The executive lounge is quite basic with what it offers and is quite small. Overall an ok experience, but service and the room sizes did affect my stay.

We "book-ended" a cruise by staying here before and after our sailing. It was a great choice.

For our first stay of 3 nights, we arrived before the official check-in time, but were quickly greeted, given the requisite warm chocolate chip cookies and directed immediately to our room. Just what you need after a long trans-Atlantic flight.

This hotel was once part of the Mint chain and retains a cool modern vibe. The rooms are small by American standards but by no means “budget.” There is minimalist decor, a sleek bath, a wardrobe, room safe, mini-bar, tea kettle and Mac computers that double as TVs. I really like the decor and amenities. Our room (262) was quiet and had a view of an antique residential building on a quiet pedestrian alleyway. Staff were accommodating, friendly and all was trouble-free throughout our stay. This held true for our post-cruise overnight as well.

And can you get any more convenient to the tube? Just a two-minute walk and there you are at the Tower Hill station. This not only allowed us easy access to the city, it also made getting to Liverpool Street Station to pick up the National Rail to the port of Harwich super easy on the Circle Line.

If you’re into sustainability and “green architecture” at all, be sure to give the outside of this place a good look. The majority of it is covered in plants, but that’s not evident from the front of the building. Also, the rooftop bar, though I visited when it was not open, looks to be a very jumping place at night. By day, it serves as a great spot for awesome photos of the Thames, the Tower and London’s iconic skyscrapers.

We'd recommend this property without hesitation and will return next time we visit London (which I hope will be soon!)

Room Tip: I don't think you can get a bad room here. It's so quiet at night being located in the busi...

Lovely hotel, well located, very warm welcome. Very comfortable room on the 4th floor, view wasn't amazing, but fine.

Ate at the Natural Kitchen which was very convenient.

Children are not allowed in sky bar after 6pm. We popped up on our final day & it was amazing. Great views of the Shard, Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

Mac's in the room are great, next time would bring a DVD to watch.

This was a really great find with the heritage trail that is typically the Tower of London and Tower Bridge right on the doorstep and yet also really close to the 'City' business district. It is kind of tucked away yet has a great open feel to it with a spacious atrium and great bar - 'Sky Lounge' on the top floor with some great views. Loved the atmosphere which was well balanced with mixture of business and tourist clientele. Room rate wasn't cheap but was good value for London and Food in the restaurant was very tasty, varied and good value. If you not want to use the hotel restaurant there is a plentiful supply of pubs and eateries round about - you won't go hungry! Staff were also really friendly

Room Tip: Because of the location there didn't seem to be any noisy areas which is what I always look to a...

Smart, well-presented hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Great location, close to the Tower of London and the City. We used it as a base to visit our daughter and to see the Matisse Cut-Outs show at the Tate Modern, and the Veronese at the National Gallery. Highly recommended.

This was our second stay at the Double Tree in Tower Hill. We had a very pleasant young lady checking us in (with the cookies of course) and when there was a problem with the credit card machine we were upgraded to a slightly better room, where, as far as I could tell the only difference was the addition of bathrobes. Still, it was a nice gesture.

We know the area around the hotel quite well, so went out for dinner at Bodeans (book, or be prepared to wait) where the pulled pork really is excellent. There are also several other eating options, as well as some good pubs.

On our return we had a quick drink in the Natural Kitchen where we found the staff very pleasant and welcoming. We then headed up to the Skylounge, which really does have one of the best views in London. The drinks are superb but do cost a bit, so just sign the bill and try not to look too closely at the total!

We had no complaints about the hotel at all (although if you are travelling with lots of luggage you may find the standard rooms a little small). However there are cheaper options in London and some people may find the location slightly too far from the centre, but we look forward to our next stay here.
