We had an overnight in London and I needed a hotel that was easy to get to from Paddington Station, close to a Tube Station and with easy access to South of the river.

After much internet searching I booked us into this hotel. It is about 50 yards from Tower Hill station which is on the Circle Line (Paddington, Kings Cross and Liverpool Street stations.)

Having travelled up on the sleeper we fell into the Hotel about 10.00 to be told our room was ready. Happy days. We were presented with 2 warm cookies - a Doubletree thing apparently.

The room was large, clean and in good decorative order, There was an armchair and a desk chair. My DH was delighted with the IMAC. We had a fridge and adequate wardrobe space. Considering the size of the room the shower room was small. But perfectly formed with plentiful supplies of the usual bathroom stuff.

When we got back to the hotel early evening, we repaired with a friend to the lovely 12th floor bar with heavenly views across S London and over towards the Shard. Prices were reasonable considering we were in a "happening " bar. It was rammed with city types as well as visitors. Nice atmosphere and places to sit away from the views.

A 10.00 p.m. we repaired down stairs to the hotel restaurant where we were welcomed despite the late hour (last service is at 10.30). Delicious supper - hot things hot, cold items cold. Guests kept drifting in - a good atmosphere with charming service at the end of what must be a long day for the wait staff.

The bed was comfy and the aircon was quiet and adjustable. We both slept well.

On check-in, the receptionist told us that this fairly large hotel was full. So we approached the restaurant for breakfast with some trepidation. We worried unnecessarily, after a wait of mere seconds, we were escorted to our table and offered oj and coffee. Both served at the table. The buffet was extensive and constantly replenished. I ordered poached eggs and smoked salmon off the menu and these came fairly promptly. When offered refills, we asked for and got cappuccinos. V well done. So although the hotel was very busy, standards were high.

No queue at check-out. We left happy and rested bunnies.

This hotel is punching above its weight. Highly recommended.

Although the hotel was clean the restaurant shut by 11pm and the room service menu was narrow in choice and the food we got was not very nice (greasy). In the morning we used the Executive lounge which was dirty, the coffee machine did not work and there was no one to greet and explain how things worked, such as having to ask to order a full English breakfast rather than the continental which was self serve.

Excellent location with 1 underground station and 1 overground station nearby. Ideal if you would like to explore the Eastern part of London (City, Docklands). Right by the Tower of London and a short boat ride to Greenwich. This contemporary hotel is very pleasant. Fantastic roof terrace. Comfortable bedrooms. Good shower. The Natural Kitchen restaurant serves very good food.

Stayed here on the 21st August 2014, hotel was very clean and room as expected. Had drinks and food in the sky lounge bar and both tasted great. Executive lounge was good for drink selection but not a wide selection of canapés.

Good service in a lovely location. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful. A few issues with the room which were unsatisfactory such as the chain lock being broken and a small leak in the shower but other than that, a wonderful stay.

Booked this hotel via booking.com, and requested a baby cot. Although confirmed via email by someone at the property, and upon check in. 12 Hours later we were still waiting for the baby cot, and after a few phone calls to different departments, the hotel had to get one from a different hotel. A late night for baby, but thankful she had a place to sleep. This was really our only hiccup the whole trip.

What was great was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and were more than willing to help out at any time. In particular I'd like to give a shout out to Dan from the Guest Service team. Each night we'd chat and help plan our dinner for the night. Since we had baby with us, he called ahead and ensured that we had a baby chair waiting for us. It was amazing to have such a help navigating the dining situation with a baby since London seems to be a bit more strict with where you can go with little ones, compared to other cities in europe. He seriously made our trip.

The rooms were a great size with lots of room for baby to move around even with a queen bed and baby cot.

The location was great for Tube access, although I will probably investigate stations that we don't have to haul everything up and down stairs each time we had to get on. With luggage and stroller it took some creative carrying to do this with the baby. The area itself is a bit quiet, so great for us, but if someone looking for nightlife this probably wasn't the place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the elevator due to rooms layout, some can be quiet a walk from the elevator...
