We were walking down portobello rd and we thought we could go for a coffee! We came here, worst mistake ever. Pastries could easily be mismatched for jewellery and the coffee was really dirty water. Toilet not working, I was counselled to go to a public one. Great! Apart from the red brick there's nothing to remember here.

I really enjoyed my visit. Myself and my boyfriend both got salads and found them really filling and tasty. Somewhat pricey but felt worth it. I found the waiting staff really friendly. Pity about what happened to the previous girl when she was there. I would not be impressed if I had seen that. Also lack of bathroom is ridiculous, anywhere that has seats and serves food and drink needs to provide this basic service.

This bakery/cafe is lacking in service and the food was mediocre at best. It was far too expensive for the little sandwich and bitter coffee I received.
The staff at the counter were disinterested in serving me, and overall unfriendly and rude. They seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than with the customers. The only staff that even cracked a smile was the young girl who delivered my sandwich to the table. The sandwich was horribly dry so I asked for mayo or mustard. I was told there was none. And when I asked for more cream and sugar for the coffee (to hide it's bitterness) I was stared at as if I had a third eye. After all this, and the pricey tab, I find out there is no washroom! Awful that you expect your customers to eat lunch and drink giant coffees but don't have a loo! I was then told to use the public porta-potty type contraption on the street. I think this cafe is used to the busy tourist crowds in the area and don't bother with service anymore. They have it made by doing nothing and charging a ton. I should also mention that as I was eating another customer went up to the till with a complaint and was sneered and laughed at by a 40 something staff member, no move was made to keep the customer happy. As the unhappy patron walked away the staff proceeded to make fun and mock her. This is a cafe in need of new ownership, management it would seem. Needless to say I will not be returning.
