Stayed with partner. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was very good. Only downside was the room was hot, even with the air con full throttle. Overall, very impressed with the hotel for the price.

We were kept couple of minutes at the reception because they weren't able to find our booking. When they finally got it, a guy named Abdul who was like a supervisor told us we've been upgraded to an executive room. Very nice. Except the room we got was actually a standard. One with windows that wouldn't close. They sent someone to lock them. Forever, as they wouldn't open any more. So we ended in a sauna. Very poor. I wouldn't stay at Britannia again

I was surprised by some of the reviews because I rate this as my favourite place to stay in London, it is a big hotel, the lobby is impressive with a view over the docklands and the rooms are quite spacious. The air con does need looking at but I found that instead of switching to the lowest level it would start working fine at 18c.

The breakfast is nice and the staff are very friendly and the rooms are kept clean as well as constant cleaning outside.

South Quay DLR station is 300 metres up the road, take a left when you come out the hotel and it takes you straight to Bank or Canary Wharf.

Excellent value for money I would say.

We booked this hotel as a family as our children were visiting the O2 Arena for a concert. The position was ideal as we were able to travel to and from there and also Greenwich using the water bus. Also travelled up into London to Convent Garden in the evening

Room Tip: ask for a quite room, higher up

I have just paid £210 for a night in a very run down and basic hotel. It is hard to get value for money on Canary Wharf, but don't be tempted to try the Brittania. This is not to blame the hotel staff - the ones who locked my window and tried to sort out my air-con were really helpful and polite, the check in was efficient, though the lady didn't say the price out loud (and it doesn't include breakfast) - I had to look over her shoulder to see it.
The bed was tiny, unstable and very hard. The plumbing banged and you could hear the water from next door echo up the pipes in my room. How dare they not refurbish or charge a reasonable price.

I travel quite a bit for business. This is among the worst hotels I've stayed in. Granted, it's on Canary Wharf and is priced under $500 a night, but the AC doesn't work, the power is iffy, the TV sometimes works sometimes not, the furniture, gym equipment and decor is about 25 years old, the windows haven't been washed in a decade and the restaurants are terrible. My door has clearly been kicked in at some point. Pretty sure they filmed Ghost Busters II here...disaster.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel. Any hotel...
