Hotel within easy distance of underground, Room adequate, but showing its lack of refurbishment, decor quite dated, think it's trying for London elegant, but struggling, needs to be brought into 21st century modern. Breakfast lounge not very well set out tends to be crammed into one end, very average breakfast offered, tables still left with bits from previous diners, half empty milk jugs, half filled coffee flasks, crumbs, needs to get sorted, have had far better choice in many smaller chains. Plenty of lounging areas.

Room Tip: The only reason we chose the hotel was because we thought we'd be very late finishing at the O2...

Dank and musty rooms. Air conditioning doesn't work. No room service really. No bell desk to offer help to take luggage to the room. Close to the O2 but best to avoid and stay somewhere else. Hotel needs major refurbishment and upgrade.

The real selling point for this hotel is location. Just a short stroll from the Jubilee line and DLR, it is perfect for Docklands, O2, Greenwich and Stratford. But, while this would have been the height of style when first opened, the hotel is rather tired. It is very clean and clearly well maintained, but needs a refresh to bring it into the modern age.

we were on a package dinner bed and breakfast £750.00 for two adults for three nights.7,8,9 july. a massive disappointment. the room was very good, that is the only consolation. all the rest was miserable, the dinner first night was dreadful, remnants of a ham or pork roast with faded vegetables and potatoes. the potatoes were good. the starters were very nondescript. the next morning we went for breakfast. it was a factory, a buffet where people were fighting to get at the dishes of fried eggs, bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and so on. a queue of people were at the toast machine battling to make toast. useless to join the queue, by the time your toast would be ready the rest would be cold. the sausage was awful, awful. the fried egg ok but on a slice of white bread that could not be toasted it was not very palatable. the last of the bacon allowed my wife and i to have a couple of fatty rashers each. not a happy experience and we had three days to go. quelle horreur. dinner that evening was not much better, if we had not been on the package we would have tried to find another restuarant nearby. breakfast again was no improvement and we looked around during the day to see if there was another restaurant nearby. unfortunately the hotel is quite remote, although during a walk in the afternoon we found a couple of restaurants, it was not practicable to go out at night in that area. we tried the pool during the day, far too cold, the first day the sauna and the steam room were out of order. the next day the part had been replaced and the sauna was back in action also the steam room. the pool was still icy cold. we made do with the jacuzzi. the food did not improve over our stay and the whole thing was an awful disappointment.
avoid at all costs, this is big NO NO, keep well away

Stayed 9th July, hotel only one tube stop from the O2 so ideally located, other positives are room and bathroom clean, good breakfast, good price for London. On the downside the hotel lobby bar area, and furnishings are a bit shabby could do with a makeover, our room overlooked the rail line, could be bad if you are a light sleeper.

Room Tip: stay opposite side to rail line

the service was exceptional and very friendly people

the rooms were of a good standard and the leisure club was great and I was really surprised with the whole thing

went with national holidays and I was so pleased I did

Room Tip: ask for a room that does not over look the road s the other side you can see the o2 arena

My partner booked us in the Britannia and after reading reviews I was quite worried. However, this was a great lesson in making your own mind up - go and see for yourself. We were very pleasantly surprised. We also got a river boat cruise in with the price of our stay.

Yes, the hotel is dated. Yes, some of the carpet is scuffed. Yes, some of the hotel needs an update but for the price we paid, this didn't bother me in the slightest. The room was clean and bright and I'm not going to let a bit of carpet ruin my weekend. I can't comment on the 4 star rating and whether this is deserved. All I know is that I'm happy with what we paid for.

We had a massive L shaped room. The bed was HUGE - we booked a double but it was at least a king size. The bathroom was very large (which makes a change for a hotel in London). There is a hairdryer in the room and a small selection of toiletries.

Breakfast was great. There was the choice of full English (and you can visit as many times as you like), fruit, yoghurt, pastries, toast, juice, cereals (even chips!). We were very, very pleased (and again, surprised at the negative reviews).

Location was excellent - a short walk to the tube. There's a Tesco Express and a small shopping centre with an M&S Food within walking distance - great for late night snacks.

Would definitely stay again.
