We had a voucher to use here for afternoon tea & I must say this is one of the better ones we've had. The service was high & the location was great.
The afternoon tea it's self was lovely. The sandwiches were not dry but were Devine. The champagne was bubbly & not flat. The cakes were delish & certainly plentiful

The location is great for shopping right on Sloan street. The hotel is very intimate and personal however you do feel the need for some sort of technological update..
I would warmly recommend this hotel! we stayed in Oscar Wilde's room and everything was great!

Good value for money and i loved the location!

This hotel is relying on history, tradition and location for it's custom. I just hate it when they do that. When ordinary people pay an obscene amount of money for a special occasion or a treat, only to find there isn't any actual luxury involved at any point, it's unforgivable. Being British, we all know to expect to be hoodwinked and ripped off in London, but even from a '5 star' hotel?

Pros:
Great location.

Cons:
Cold, dark, cramped bedroom.
Worn and tatty carpet and furnishings - and I don't mean in a shabby chic style.
Expensive - £29 for three drinks and one of them was only a small beer.
I have had a 10 x better afternoon tea at Patisserie Valerie for half the price and with quicker and more efficient service.
Hard bread and pastries at breakfast. Not fresh orange juice!! I am so glad there was a M&S Food nearby.
No more luxury than a 2 or 3 star.

I took my daughter-in-law to the Cadogan for afternoon tea and champagne. This was a very special experience. The champagne was beautifully cooled and poured with skill. We had a rose tea which I have to say was served in lovely a large tea pot and poured into lovely china cups. The cakes and sandwiches - well- hmm AMAZING! We shared all of the cakes and I can honestly say they were all just exquisite! The sandwiches were beautifully made and were mouth-wateringly good.

The whole experience was just superb and one that we would both like to repeat!

We booked the Cadogan for our wedding night in September as we were married at Chelsea .We have always wanted to stay at the Cadogan as we work in the vinicity and the romantic idea of staying in the Lillie Langtry or the Oscar Wilde suite drew us to the hotel. We booked the Lillie Langtry suite after reading the hotel marketing blurb. For the sum of £325 we got a room with worn and dirty carpets, thread bare bathrobes, worn towels, dust laden window sills, paint flaking on the bathroom walls, a dressing table where the laminated top was worn and flaking. A tv that required nasa training to operate, and the final nail in the coffin a stained mattress. When we booked we stated we were booking for our wedding night . We did not receive any special touches, more the faulty towers experience. The room was very disappointing for a wedding night and were it not for the lateness of hour we would probably have gone home to our own bed. The next morning we couldn't wait to leave so we hurried down for breakfast hoping this might save something of the stay for us. What greeted us was something straight from the playbook of a motorway services - cold burnt toast, unappetising pastries, a rock hard smoked salmon bagel and orange juice (not fresh) served from large urns and poor service. This was not a five star breakfast. Upon checking in we were asked if we wanted a complimentary newspaper the following morning, even this did not materialise. We
exited no sooner than we had arrived. We would not recommend a stay at this hotel.Don't be fooled by the historic connection the only links with the past this place has is the dust on the window sills.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago on a trip with my wife and we were in a deluxe room which was wonderful.the decor is shabby chic not too dissimilar to a good malmaison but the service is far better as well the staff making it feel more of a family hotel 5 star style!! A big mention to Richie who is a charming concierge who could probably grace the stage in the west end! Can't comment on the foods as we ate out on our stay but accommodation wise we found it good value and the hotel has plenty of character like its staff. Thanks a lot David & Stephanie Langston
