We made a reservation having seen the website. It comes accross as a light and airy boutique hotel, it is not
Tired is an understatement.
The place was dark, almost gothic. Threadbare with oldy worldy pictures and stautues that looked filthy or were broken. Even the canvas on one painting had big tears in it.
The bedroom was strange in decor to say the least almost eery and very dark
The furniture was old,scratched.
We didn't even stay for an hour. They told us they would charge because they were busy, we didn't see anyone else at all.
One for the lawyers by the sound of it for miss representation if they do charge us

Having stayed at Number 11 for over 20 years it is with regret that I can no longer recommend this hotel to anyone. It used to be a top-notch townhouse-hotel with traditional English decor and ambiance. With new ownership and decor it has turned into a disaster. The public areas look as a New Orleans bordello might have appeared a hundred years ago (without the girls). Nothing English or classy about this. A few of the rooms have been renovated (the more expensive ones) but the majority are worn and very disappointing. None of the rooms at Number 11 are sound-proofed and the night staff fails to keep the noise level down without a special request. The recent renovations to this hotel have consisted of redecorating only without changes to the infrastructure.

The breakfast room walls are covered with garish black-and-white framed photocopies of photos of social misfits from the 1970's. The breakfast buffet is poor to mediocre. It used to be the best around. The staff in the dining room area spent most of the time standing around complaining about their poor work conditions.

The room prices here are way too high for what one receives. A poor value to be avoided. Another reviewer wrote that a staff member told her the new owner was trying to attract a "different kind of clientele". Good luck. You certainly won't be seeing this customer back again.

I am in London each month for business and generally stay at the Hilton London Paddington. Because occupancy was so tight (Farnborough Air Show was on), I was unable to find a room at any of my usual suspects. I found No11 online and looked lovely. On arrival, the could not find my reservation!! Thankfully, I had my confirmation with me and after some searching they found it. The first room I was given was shocking! dirty carpets - dull bathroom - clearly NOTHING LIKE the website had visually promised. Finally after some poking around in their system, they were able to find me a slightly larger room but still it bears no resemblance to the website. (think dutch plates and you will be able to visualise the wallpaper. Odd furnishings and carpets that are in dire need of a deep clean. The lesson learned here...... If the website has those little vinette images and nothing more... run for the hills!
