“Very Polite Staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2014

We booked a room for two adults and one child. We were given a large room with two double beds.

The staff are all incredibly polite and a real asset to the hotel.

The bathrooms could do with a face lift but they were spotlessly clean. We didn't bother with the breakfast and we went to the Eurocafe across the road and had an excellent breakfast.

Its a bit annoying that as a guest you have to pay to use the gym and the swiming pool.

Thank you for your kind review and for staying with us.
We are all very pleased that you found our Team here to be both polite and an asset to our hotel.
We are refurbishing our hotel shortly for the future.
I am glad you found your bathroom spotlessly clean and I have noted your comments/feedback on the Ozone Health & Leisure Club.

Loved my stay in holiday inn from start to finish. Beautiful decor, professional friendly staff, and luxurious beds. Spent a very happy Saturday night in the spa, followed by tv and yummy room service dinner. Will return soon.

The hotel is not too far from St-Pancras/Kings Cross. We took a cab on the way to the hotel, but we walked back later on to the underground station. All in all a 10-15 minutes walk.

When we arrived we were told we were given an executive room. We took the elevator up, only to see smoking room signs on our doors. So, we went back to reception to ask for non-smoking rooms. We were quickly rebooked, and we asked to do the same for our colleague who would join later on the evening. In the end, he did not get rebooked to a non smoking room. The reason was that he had an executive room, and people tend not to smoke there. As if... So he spent the night in a smelly room. So if you are a non smoker and like a fresh room, avoid this hotel, as they cannot guarantee a non smokers room.

My executive room (what's in a name) turned out to have a door to the adjacent room. Yes, it was locked, but I could literally hear every cough from the person next doors. I sleep relatively well, but if you have problems sleeping in and wake up easily from noises: again, avoid this hotel.

The breakfast was OK (choice between English and continental) and the rooms we were in were clean. All in all a one off experience for us. Don't appreciate being lied to about smoke in the room.

Room Tip: Try to get a non-smoking room and ask for one that has no doors to the room next doors. If they have...

Thank you for your review and your conclusions.
Please accept my apologies that you and your colleague did not get allocated your preferred non-smoking room type on arrival and for the disruption caused.
I am glad that you found the rooms clean
We are increasing the number of non smoking guest rooms this year and I do hope this will help in the future.
Thank you for letting us know.

I booked this through ticketree which was an overnight stay here and two tickets to dirty dancing what i paid for this was worth bed and breakfast alone. we arrived at the hotel two hours early and were allowed to check in no extra cost the receptionist was very helpful. when we got to our room .................. wow it was spacious and immaculate with a touch of luxury. we ordered room service for dinner as we were pushed for time to see our show it arrived promptly beautifully presented and tasted amazing we were pleasantly suprised by the reasonable cost. that night we had the best sleep ever in the amazingly comfortable beds we were in a twin room with two double beds !!!!!!!!! the next morning we received an ample continental breakfast ( we could have had a full english for an extra £7 ) I would definately stay here again it adds a touch of class without the expense .

My boyfriend and I had an overnight stay here before going onto Disneyland Paris on the Eurostar. On arrival to the hotel, we were impressed, the reception area was very clean and quite grand considering it was only a Holiday Inn. We were checked in straight away and given our room keys and the relevant information.

Our room was quite spacious, it had a very big, comfy bed and a small seating area which we used for our bags. We were supplied tea and coffee making facilities as well. The bath is very small, I am 5 foot 2 and just managed to fit in it! The water wasn't very hot either, but we didn't exactly pay a lot of money for the room, so couldn't really complain.

Breakfast wasn't amazing, but we did only book Continental as didn't realise there would be an English breakfast option. There were no queues and lots of tables available.

The location of the hotel is great if just for a stop over for St Pancras, I wouldn't recommend this hotel if wanting to explore London.

Good Points:
Close to St Pancras (about 5 mins in a taxi)
Cheaper price than other hotels in London
Clean and spacious rooms

Bad Points:
Bath very small
Not very hot water
Have to pay for wifi

I stayed there two nights, while attending some work events. The staff seemed very new and untrained, which for me means high rotation of employees, probably due low wage. The breakfast seemed surreal - you paid this amount of money for the room to be closely watched if you take something that doesn't belong to your breakfast. The reception of the breakfast was almost angry at me, someone like me who can't make any sense of anything before a cup of coffee, and committed the major mistake of not having the breakfast option added to the reservation (done by the travel agency). I took the continental option and was ok with it, but saw several guests being embarrassed because they went to take some eggs and nope, that's not included. On the next day I decided some cold croissant and filtered coffee didn't worth the money, and had some lovely pancakes and wonderful coffee one block away for the same price.

On the checkout my colleague asked to have the bill in the company name, which the staff member said it was not possible. Since that would be the first time ever that we hear that was not possible - any other hotel we stayed, including other Holiday Inn branches, know it's perfectly fine and usual. But not to that lady. So, please train your staff, or make a better place where the trained ones would continue to work.

This hotel was the secret hotel from late deals.com. I paid £99 for a twin en suite room which consisted of 2 queen beds.

Very comfy beds
Clean sheets and room
Bathroom was ok but could benefit from a deep clean.
Only 3 cups n 2 glasses provided even though it's a 4 person room.
Good heating facility
No noise
Lovely and helpful concierge
The reception staff are a tad hard to understand
We forgot to put the do not disturb sign up so the maid came in at 7.30am!! Wasn't happy.
We paid £20 parking which secured our spot for 24hours. We used our car several times and each time the concierge locked out space up awaiting our return.
A bit different but I noticed they had irons and ironing boards situated ever so often within the hallways. I don't remember seeing one in my room but a trouser press was definitely provided.
The pool and sauna facilities are not included in the price and incurs a charge of £3.50 per adult and £1.50 per child and this doesn't allow 24hour access
Either it's per visit!! Iv never experienced this before, usually the price for the hotel includes access to all facilities but extra charges for treatments.

Overall a good budget stay for small families in London but please bare in mind by car it took us 30minutes to get into London city centre. If we'd of gone in a taxi I was quoted £16 each way.
