stayed twice at the start and end of a holiday via Eurostar. Good rooms on both occasions.
helpful staff, food of pretty reasonable standard and realistically priced for London.

We stayed here for two nights during August. This hotel offers good value and good sized rooms for central London. Sensible prices mean this hotel is very popular and it was certainly very busy. There is a queue for breakfast at peak times, but with two large dining areas the queue moves quite quickly. The hotel does not have a secure luggage store. Luggage is chained together and left in the foyer.
Information about this hotel indicates that Kings Cross is the nearest tube station. We think Farringdon station is nearer and is a more pleasant walk.

Didn't expect much as we had booked this as part of a bargain Living Social deal and thought we would get one of the bad rooms previous people have described but could not fault the hotel at all.
The rooms were spacious, clean and two very comfy queen sized beds. Plenty of clean, fluffy white towels and the usual toiletries, you could call for others from a list (even ladies personal stuff) if you'd forgotten them. Even a choice of pillows. Dove hand wash and shower gel provided in dispensers.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Continental breakfast was a little basic but was of good quality and you could eat as much as you liked.
Was a little out of the way but a very frequent No 63 bus was a minute down the road and Kings Cross Station only a 10 minute walk, no big deal.
If I ever have to stay in London again would seriously consider staying at this hotel.

Stayed here having visited a Holiday Inn previously and we were very disappointed. The rooms were tired, the windows let in all the traffic noise (even up on the fourth floor) and breakfast was terrible. We stayed for two nights and chose not to go for breakfast on the second morning based on our experience the day before. On the plus side, the pool/whirlpool facilities were excellent. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here, there are much better places to stay.

We booked this hotel through superbreak along with our travel and stayed for 2 nights. We got the offer with dinner on the first night and breakfast on both days.
We've never stayed in London before so we were apprehensive about the distance of the hotel from the tourist attractions etc. I'm 7 months pregnant so we wanted to be relatively close to a tube station and other amenities.
We arrived at 1.00 not expecting to be able to check in however the lovely receptionist clocked my baby bump straight away and let us check in to our room. The room itself was basic but more than adequate for our needs. The bed was very comfy and the shower was great. The view wasn't the best but I can't say we were that bothered. My only small gripe was how thin the walls were as we were woken up by noisy children in the room next door at 7 am the following day.
Dinner on the first night was excellent. I was dubious as to whether the inclusive meal would be any good but it really was fantastic. Soup to start followed by chicken and chocolate cheesecake. Excellent quality and friendly service.
Breakfast was equally as good. I had read some negative reviews about breakfast at this hotel but they couldn't have been more wrong..buffet style with plenty of hot and cold options. We ate at 9am on both days and didn't have to wait to be seated. Neither did we have to queue for food. The staff looked very busy but they are a big hotel with lots of people to serve so this would only be expected.
We were a little disappointed with the pool. I'd forgotten that there was a charge of 3.50pp and I think this may be a little excessive for what it is. We went during 'kids' time which was a huge mistake because the kids were literally running wild. Despite the no diving sign they were jumping in, running in and out of the sauna and steam room and generally being very loud. We literally spent all of about 4 minutes in there before we had had enough. I suggest a member of staff being present in there would be helpful for guests. I also think a nominal charge of 1.00 would be more than enough.
That said, we didn't come to London for the hotel swimming pool so I won't hold it against this hotel.
We were a 10 min walk from Russell Square tube station which was perfect. Only one stop to Covent Garden.
All in all, the staff were very welcoming, the location was just what we wanted, rooms were comfortable, food was much better than expected and ultimately...yes...We would stay here again.

Just stayed at this hotel for the one night, booked two rooms one family & one double, both rooms were really clean & comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Booked with hotel direct which gave a very good rate. A little far out and it's good 10 minute walk to Kings cross station which is ideal for the tube. Wouldn't fancy walking around the area late at night, bit dodgy. Plenty of taxis around when you come out of the station and there's a bus stop right outside the hotel if you don't want to walk, having said that I'd definitely stay there again.
