.............not really worth using 50,000 reward points (one night) up on as a IHG Platinum member.
I booked one night for myself, wife and Daughter in Feb using points. All other IHG hotels in central London were showing no availability.
Staff, check-in, appearance, doormen, etc, etc all first class. However having booked over one month in advance, with a child, I was somewhat surprised to be allocated a room with only one double bed and absolutely no room to place a third bed with removing furniture. Indeed with the desk removed we would have still had to climb over the third bed to reach the bathroom! We were eventually moved to a room where re-arrangement of the furniture meant a third fold-down bed could be accommodated.
I completely understand space comes at a premium in Park Lane, however if the hotel looks for recommendations and return booking perhaps situations like the above shouldn't occur with advanced bookings?
