We booked this hotel as we were going to The Royal Opera House as a birthday treat. The staff were very efficient, warm and friendly. Our room No 223 was on the second floor and was comfortably furnished, we booked the deluxe room. The lighting was good and the bed very comfortable, in fact I usually am not a good sleeper however I slept right through until 8.20am which is unheard of. The cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom was excellant. The price we paid included breakfast which was very good. We thought the rate was very good compared to other hotels in London. The position of the hotel could not have been better just a very short walk to The Opera House and all the shops and restaurants. I would most definitley stay there again

Our stay at the Kingsway hall was excellent. The location is great as it is near the main parts of Covent garden with shops, theatres, restaurants etc. It also perfect for the Royal Opera house although we did not go! But would have been in a great location if we did. The cleanliness of the hotel was spotless and the lobby area, restaurant and bar is beautifully designed. The breakfast was amazing! Had absolutely everything you want and the quality of the food was just delicious. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the rooms are perfect for a weekend trip however my only downfall is that the summer rates seem way too steep for what the rooms are, yes they are clean but they are slightly dated and old fashioned compared to the interiors of everywhere else in the hotel.. Overall very pleased :)

For what you pay, this hotel is very poor. the rooms are pretty basic (4 star) small rooms. However the location is great .
I was disappointed to learn that our rate did not include breakfast (even continental) or wifi. we had four rooms and had to pay 15 GBP per day for Wi-Fi.. This is a rip-off in central London - any bar, restaurant or even underground station has free wifi - when we were spending well over two thousand pounds for two nights accommodation for four guests we thought they might waive this. But were told 'it's central London' - Please feel free to provide feedback
Our colleague tried to get some toiletries he forgot at reception (expected some small stock as in most hotels but he was recommended to go to a shop).
Personally I didn't sleep the first night in the hotel, found the bed pretty uncomfortable

Room Tip: Away from the front of the hotel for a bit quieter

We had a great weekend . The hotel was warm and welcoming and the service was excellent. Would love to stay again and for longer. Best nights sleep in months. The location was brilliant for accessing the show and an evening out.

Just returned from a 3 night stay, we had a lovely time but hotel slightly underwhelmed for these reasons; reception area smaller than I expected, room average, £15 per day wifi charge (was asked on checking in did I want to "upgrade" for £30 per night for nicer room with wifi but declined as I'd paid a lot already) some areas skimped (2 teabags per room per day for 2 guests), OK I know this isn't a massive thing but details such as these say a lot about a hotel. Also had sensors on the mini bar items (what!!) so if an item was moved, the room was charged. I queried this on checking out as we were charged for a bar of chocolate when we hadn't had anything, it was taken off the bill but evokes a feeling of a place trying to squeeze as much as possible unfortunately. Really think breakfast should be included for the amount we paid - knew it wasn't, but really should be! Staff nice, location fabulous, just needs tweaking a bit here and there.

Dear seachange 7

Thank you for your review and I have noted all your comments which are much appreciated.

I shall pass on all your remarks to the team and note your thoughts re WiFi which is high power and breakfast is chargeable separately as not all guests wish to have their bedroom rates inflated by a service that they perhaps wouldn't use. This policy is constantly reviewed but will remain for now.

From the moment we arrived until the time we left, it felt like the hotel really wanted us to enjoy our stay and nothing was too much to ask of them. Can not say enough about the staff or the quality of the food at their restaurant, especially considering what we considered to be a very reasonable price for our meals. The room was at the front on the fourth floor and late on Saturday you could hear some noise from the street but the really heavy curtains did a great job, and you could not really expect more at any hotel we would think.

Room Tip: The higher the better probably and not facing the street which is usual practice anyway

Wonderful afternoon tea in peaceful surroundings. We booked for 3.30 p.m. and were not rushed at all. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious and we could have had more for no extra cost if we could have managed it!

Very attentive staff and hotel is conveniently placed and easy to find. Thoroughly recommend it.
