“Great hotel and location”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

Booked this as a birthday treat for my mum with tickets to see Lion King through hotel direct.com. Hotel was much more than I expected. From first arrival through to departure all staff we encountered from reception/concierge to cleaners were friendly & helpful. Hotel perfectly situated. Close to Holborn yet off main road so no noise for a good nights sleep it's within easy walking distance of Covent garden and Lyceum Theatre. Rooms were decorated nicely with no scuffs indicating no ware & tear, and clean with minibar, tea/coffee etc. Couldn't fault the hotel, would definitely stay again. Thanks Kingsway Hall :-D

Very friendly welcome as soon as we walked in, room was spacious and very comfortable with air conditioning and mini bar. Lovely nights sleep. They let us leave our suitcase for the afternoon even though we had checked out. We booked this hotel as a hidden gem through Hotels Direct and couldn't be happier.

My partner and I spent two very enjoyable nights here two weeks ago. After a below-par stay back in January, we had no intention of returning. That said, many previous visits had been very satisfactory and enjoyable. However, following honest feedback, we were contacted by Burak the Hotel's Reservations Manager, apologising for the Hotel's shortcomings and suggesting we give them another try.
We decided to do this and booked directly with the Hotel this time.
To our delight, we had the nicest room with comfiest bed and attentive staff and service on this visit.
The breakfast was much improved, faultless in fact, and the only complaint we had was that the jacuzzi was not working.
This got sorted quickly, by staff starting it manually, but having to get dressed again to go to reception and report it was a pain.
In summary, the Kingsway Hall has redeemed itself.
Just one thing to consider though, is that we had an unexpected 2% service charge added to our bill.
If you are looking for a Hotel close to Covent Garden, want a convenient location close to Theatreland and a delicious breakfast with a huge variety of good quality food, then consider staying here. You won't be disappointed. Pancakes and waffles are freshly made and superb, but do carry a supplement.
The Holborn tube is just a few minutes away.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the Hotel are street facing and noisier. Rooms seem to vary quite a lot. Book...

We booked the hidden gem hotel with Hotels Direct, we have done this before so knew which hotel it would be and we were right. From stepping in the front door to leaving 4 days later we could not have had a nicer reception. All the staff are pleasant and courteous, always have time for you. We were offered an upgrade for a minimal price which we accepted, we happened to mention the break was for our Ruby Anniversary and my birthday and were given a double upgrade. Lovely big comfortable quiet room, coffee maker, bathrobes, slippers even an umbrella plus Moulton Brown shampoo etc. Good buffet breakfast to set us up for the day. As other reviewers have said the hotel is so convenient for getting around. As this was our 4th visit to The Kingsway Hall we are looking forward to our 5th.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on high floor if you are a light sleeper.

Just spent 3 days in London staying at the Kingsway Hall Hotel. It was a lovely hotel to stay in, rooms very large and big bathrooms with top quality fittings.we found it on mystery hotels and the only thing we were not happy with, was the extra cost of WiFi, £15 per day, there is a lot of free WiFi around so we didn't bother with that. But we would stay again for the convience of the locality, so handy to the west end and covent garden, we bought an oyster card for the tude but only used it to get the natural history and the V & A museams. We did not eat at the hotel as we don't eat a full English breakfast, and we were out every evening.

Room Tip: Had a front room little bit noisy in mornings, but on 4th floor so not really a problem

We have just returned from a trip to London, having stayed in the Kingsway Hall Hotel. We found the hotel to be very clean and we had good service from all the staff we came in contact with. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and everything else you expect. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat in the hotel, we felt that £16 each for breakfast was very expensive, however your in London so not surprised.
The only thing that annoyed us was we had put drinks on our room, which we had in the bar and when we got our bill (when we checked out) a service charge had been added for every drink we had brought, if we been advised of this at the time of ordering the drinks we would of paid as we go!
The location of the hotel is excellent, you close enough to all the action, without it being on your doorstep. We would stay there again.

Dear abbie e

Thank you for choosing the Kingsway Hall and I appreciated your time in reviewing us in detail.
I was delighted to learn that you found the team to be friendly and attentive and that most of your expectations were met and shall personally share your kind comments with all those concerned.
Our service charge is published as discretionary and is 12.5% and applied to any sale transaction and your thought regarding the Breakfast charges, it is chargeable separately as not all guests wish to have their bedroom rates inflated by a service that they perhaps wouldn't use during their stay. If we may assist further, please do not hesitate to contact us direct.
Kind regards,

We booked this hotel as a "hidden gem" on Hotelsdirect.com so we didn't know where we were going until we secured the booking. We are so glad that we booked this hotel because it was lovely and the staff were amazing. We visited London because we were watching a show in Covent Garden so it was an ideal location.
